To Use BPS Wireless Networks With Personal Wireless Devices
The Beatrice Public School’s Technology Department will only provide the setup information required to access the Elementary Wireless Network. We will not set up the personal device for you, or be able to offer any other support with your personal device.
To connect to the Beatrice Public Schools wireless, you will need to change your wireless settings. The wireless settings on laptops are usually accessed from a wireless adapter icon in the lower right-hand corner of the desktop (system tray). When you hover over it, it will say something about a wireless connection. Right click on the wireless adapter icon choose "View available wireless networks".
You should see School-Guest and Beatrice-Schools.
School-Guest (no authorization required) Beatrice-Schools (this is ONLY used by BPS personnel) It will ask you for the security key (password). The password for the Elementary and MS wireless is 0rangenBlack (Note the first character is a zero)
To access the internet once you are connected to the Beatrice-Schools network:
You will need to change your browser proxy settings. Internet Explorer: Go to Tools/Internet Options/Connections/LAN Settings Check the box to use a Proxy Server The proxy address is 10.1.13.26 port 8002 You may need to go to Advanced and select the checkbox that says “Use the Same Proxy Server for all Protocols”
An iPod Touch, iPad, and any tablet needs the same info and it is under Settings--Wi-Fi
You will need to reconnect to your own network once you are home. Remember, when using your device at home, you will have to change the settings back. Usually for Internet, you will just have to uncheck the use proxy server box.
