MASLAND CONTRACT AND TANDUS FLOORING TAKE TOP HONORS IN THE ANTRON® PRODUCT INNOVATION AWARD COMPETITION
Newport Coast, Calif. (April 22, 2012) – INVISTA, makers of Antron® carpet fiber, presented the Antron® Product Innovation Award to Masland Contract, Tandus Flooring and Bentley Prince Street during a gala ceremony at The Resort at Pelican Hill® in Newport Coast, Calif. Masland Contract received the Broadloom Gold award for “Emblem.” Tandus Flooring captured the Modular Gold award for “Atmosphere.” Judges were impressed with the innovative styling for each of the winning carpet styles.
“Masland Contract’s Emblem carpet style is refreshingly innovative and interesting,” said judge Eileen Goodman, partner at Moody Nolan, Inc. “The elegant variation of loop carpet is balanced with the proper amount of cut pile to create a very rich effect, yet not cause great concern about wear.”
“The type of graphic showcased in Tandus Floorings’ Atmosphere is the patterning of the future,” said judge Gillian Johnson, principal at BURKETT DESIGN. “It is extremely organic, yet subtle enough to be a stage upon which an environment can be created.”

Judges for the Antron® Brand Product Innovation Award were Sonya Dufner of Gensler, Eileen Goodman of Moody Nolan, Inc., Gillian Johnson of BURKETT DESIGN, Clay Pendergrast of HOK and Paulla Shetterly of CDH Partners.
Broadloom Gold Winner: Emblem by Masland Contract Emblem is the flagship pattern of the Chrome Collection, which was designed to create a series of styles that work in conjunction with one another for signature spaces. Emblem features the use of lustrous accents along with textural interest to create a look that is notably distinguished. The color palette maintains a look indigenous to corporate settings rooted primarily in neutrals and additional saturated colors. The signature pattern uses both Antron® Legacy™ nylon and Antron® Lumena™ solution dyed fibers to achieve the look.
Modular Gold Winner: Atmosphere by Tandus Flooring
Atmosphere, a modular carpet style constructed of Antron® Legacy™ nylon by Tandus Flooring, transcends the modular square, creating large expanses of uninterrupted design and eliminating the pattern fatigue of traditional square modular styles. Rooted in historic Japanese art & architecture, the patterns and textures interpret the emotions and cultural nuances of Japan’s rural countryside, including cherry blossoms, bamboo forests, lily ponds, tea houses and terraced rice fields. The application of color layering adds visual depth and helps to soften the amorphous impact of the motifs. An ombre effect is designed into the ground through yarn thread-up. The style’s subtle and elegant multi-colored palette plays to a much broader audience than one might expect from 12 color ways, as four distinct color tones are visible in each with high luster pattern yarns offering clarity and vividness.
Modular Silver and Broadloom Silver Winner: Oscar Worthy by Bentley Prince Street Bentley Prince Street’s Oscar Worthy, manufactured with Antron® Legacy™ carpet fiber, celebrates Los Angeles’ heritage and love for the creative arts. Embracing a random structure and chic color line, the product exemplifies natural beauty with rustic style. Available in both broadloom and modular tiles, Oscar Worthy delivers both momentum and cohesion to any corporate, hospitality or retail environment, fulfilling total design.
Modular Merit Winner: Chrome Collection by Masland Contract Torque modular is a coordinating pattern in the Chrome Collection, a series of styles that work in conjunction with one another for signature spaces. The style features the use of lustrous accents along with textural interest, and the color palette is designed for use in corporate settings and is rooted primarily in neutrals and additional saturated colors. Torque modular is constructed of 100% Antron® Lumena™ nylon.
