PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

1.B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

1.C. Verify proper fuel source is available.

3.2 PREPARATION

2.A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

2.B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best 10310-13 result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, ANSI Z223.1 and NFPA 54 and the requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.

3.B. Use manufacturer's guidelines for minimum clearances to combustibles, walls, and finishes.

3.C. Set fire units plumb, level, and rigid

3.D. Anchor all components firmly in position.

3.E. Connect to natural gas system in accordance with ANSI Z223.1 and NFPA 54.

3.F. Connect to natural gas system in accordance with CSA B149.1 and CSA B149.2.

3.G. Connect to propane system in accordance with NFPA 54.

3.H. Connect to propane system in accordance with CSA B149.1 and B149.2.

3.I. Connect to power supply and control wiring in accordance with NFPA 70.

3.J. Connect to power supply and control wiring in accordance with CSA C221.

3.K. Upon completion of installation, visually inspect all exposed surfaces. Touch up scratches and abrasions with touch up paint recommended by the manufacturer; make imperfections invisible to the unaided eye from a distance of 5 feet.

3.4 PROTECTION

4.A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

4.B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
