Hello Everyone again, We had another good week. At the end of this week your child should be able to recognize and write the letters Aa and give you the short sound for it. The picture cards we use were alligator, apple, astronaut, and ant. We sang and acted out 5 Monkeys and Mr. Alligator song and 5 Apples on the Tree song. We learned how to sign the letter a in American Sign Language. Your child also should be able too sign: please, boys, girls, and stand up. We also learned the Pledge in Sign Language. We have been working on the number 2. We are reviewing our colors too. (Your child should be able to sign them too.) We are learning our shapes too. A lot is going on. Along with the academics, your child is learning the school rules: walking in lines, raising hands, listening while the teacher speaks, etc. Throughout the weekend, work on all these skills with your child. Play I spy to find both capital and lowercase Aa's. Count two things. Read stories and talk about the author and illustrator. Most of all enjoy them and have fun. Some things to mention: 1. We do not celebrate birthdays with treats. Please do not send any in with your child. We will make them leader for the day and sing to them. If sending in invitations; your child's whole class must be invited. (not just a select few) 2. If your child has a fever, your child must stay at home. The child must be fever free for 24 hours. This is school policy. Keeping sickness from spreading rapidly is the reason. 3. Thank you to those who have sent in the requested items. We are using the Lysol wipes to clean off the desk and common used items frequently. The tissues are being used often too. 4. Scholastic is open for ordering. Class code is DX49D 5. Any last minute fundraisers that were forgotten can still be turned in tomorrow. 6. If you have not responded to any of my emails please do so. I am keeping track to make sure I am reaching everyone. I think that is all for now, Any time you have a question, concern or any other info, please feel free to ask Have a nice night. Ms. Maria
