ATTENTION GRADUATE STUDENTS

Fresno Gem and Mineral Society Scholarships for

California State University Fresno Students

 Scholarships Awarded for Master’s Thesis Research  We have $1000 total this year available for Graduate Student scholarships. We would like to give two $500 scholarships.

Scholarship Criteria

 Pursuing a Master’s in Geology  3.0 grade point average minimum  Completed scholarship application  Biographical Essay including description of education and career goals.  Funds to be used exclusively for Master’s Thesis Fieldwork.

Recipient Responsibilities

 Prepare and present lecture to Fresno Gem and Mineral Society outlining objectives and conclusions of field work.  Helping at the rock table at the fair.  Be willing to help in club activities.  Submit one short article for the CHIPS newsletter or for website outlining how the scholarship helped out with their fieldwork and research.

Recipient Benefits

Autobiographical Essay On a separate paper, submit a typed essay describing your educational and career goals, your community and school involvement, and any special or unique circumstances you would like to share with the scholarship committee.

You must submit a copy of your thesis proposal.

Return completed application to the EES Department Office by April 21, 2014.
