Job Title: CNC Programmer Reports to: Senior Process Engineer

Position Summary Responsible for developing programs for multiple-axis CNC lathes and cut-off equipment and will assume a lead role in process improvement and cost reduction activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Develops machining processes for the manufacturing of new products using multiple- axis machining centers. 2. Assumes lead role in process improvement and cost reductions through productivity improvement and machine time reductions, including tool and new product program testing. 3. Develops, implements, and oversees means of programming; utilizing macro-variable programming, tool libraries, material libraries, and other advanced programming techniques. 4. Trains new CNC programmers and aids in training of production operators on new and existing CNC machine tools. 5. Provides technical support for quality control, process improvements, cost savings, process development projects, new product launches, equipment qualifications, and process validations. 6. Periodically works independently with vendors. 7. Investigates quality issues and evaluate tool quality for root cause and recommends/implements and documents corrective actions. 8. Make proposals/recommendations with regards to capital equipment purchases, cost reduction opportunities, and Supplier/Vendor selection, and safety.

9. Creates and maintains accurate routings, standards, CNC programs and set-up sheets in compliance with ISO and AS9100 Standards. 10. Develops cost estimates for new and modified products; identifies specifications and requirements, obtains quotations and project costs, recommends alterations to enhance manufacturing feasibility. 11. Analyzes data, formulates conclusions and provides recommendations to supervisory and managerial personnel in various departments for short and long-range planning. 12. Improve productivity through implementation of CAD/CAM generated CNC programs. 13. Tests, compares, analyzes and recommends tooling for most efficient use of equipment Competencies: 1. Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision. 2. Maintains knowledge of equipment and manufacturing technology changes. 3. Working knowledge of ISO, AS, OSHA and NFPA standards. 4. Utilization of Lean Manufacturing techniques. 5. Ability and experience applying engineering and statistical analysis. 6. Knowledge of both manual and CNC controlled equipment utilized in bending, beading, flaring, and forming of tubular products. 7. Ability to design and build jigs, tooling, and fixtures used in tube fabrication.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or comparable technical degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering. 5 years of manufacturing, CNC programming and operational experience; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
