WHAT ARE THE STRENGTHS AND MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SOLANO DIVERSIFIED SERVICES (SDS) IN THE PAST THREE YEARS? Brainstormed Perceptions: Relocation of the Fairfield program to a relatively new, modern business building Maintaining the funding and service level even when the economy was in a downturn Two additional new vendors within the Department of Rehab—Situational Assessment and Work Adjustment We have a staff that is committed and passionate about the work we do The people we serve are happy Teamwork—each department helps each other We have a nice range of options for the people we serve—no matter where they are, we can provide a service Flexibility with staff and workers We preserve privacy for participants and staff Longevity of the business—it is our 35th year Good relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Source America, State Department of Rehab) Louis meets with Source America regularly Local and national visibility Employment Development and Workforce Investment Board—networking with partners We maintain CARF accreditation—we have had it since 1996 Going for CIMS certification for cleaning standards Going through an assessment of our quality standards Board members have made site visits to see some of the program activities Folks view this organization as not having a lot of turnover—consistent staff Competitive salaries in our industry Staff knows that management is responsive We have really good communication All the staff have smart phones for calls, texts and photos We use Dropbox We are really into efficiency SDS has done a good job of partnering with other non-profits when it makes sense to provide services (e.g., Meals on Wheels) Customer satisfaction from the CHP on floor care We work with Travis AFB, Army Reserve, Costco, Clorox and other partners We have a persistence in satisfying our customers—we keep at it until they’re happy We do a good job of listening to our staff and paying attention in order to support them We participate with the Chambers We included a new Board Member New position of Contract Operations Manager Consistent, stable, strong Rehab staff An above average reputation in the community Stable finances Responsiveness (e.g., answering phones, emails) A culture of asking questions, seeking answers and learning more We have a detailed Quality Control Plan for cleaning, which has been shared with our customers Organizational leadership is one of our strengths Whenever there is a staff issue that needs to be addressed, we have a meeting and resolve it We are becoming paperless We have high profile contracts/partners Staff gets a great benefits package We have an open door policy culture—we don’t let things fester, but respond to problems We have a very supportive and involved Board We participate with our legislators (e.g., coffee with Senator Feinstein)
