Dyess Spouses Charitable Association, Inc. 2015 Scholarship Application and Information for High School Seniors and Continuing Education Dependents
The Dyess Spouses Charitable Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization Scholarship serving Dyess Air Force Base. The club has a long-standing tradition of offering an annual scholarship to military spouses and dependents. Awards are based Information upon scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Our goal is to identify and reward outstanding students.
Once all packets are received, they are judged by an impartial panel comprised of local university faculty and staff. The results are compiled by the DSCA Judging Scholarship Committee to determine the amount of money given to each winner. Packets are kept anonymous throughout the entire judging process.
Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria: *Seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the summer or fall of 2015 *A married legal spouse, dependant child of an active duty, retired, or deceased Eligibility military member assigned to Dyess AFB or from Dyess AFB area. *Have not received a prior scholarship from DSCA *May not be receiving scholarships in excess of the cost of tuition, room and board, books, and fees.
Applications must be complete and submitted by mail, postmarked on or before Friday, February 27th, 2015 to the address below.

Official School Transcripts Official copies of your high school/college transcripts (all schools attended within last 4 years) Official copies of your SAT/ACT scores or entrance examinations.
Education and Experience Data Sheet Please complete the education and data sheet and attach it. Remember to use the last four digits of your social security in the upper right hand corner for identification.
Letters of Recommendation Submit two letters of recommendation. It is recommended that one letter be from a previous/current teacher and the other from an individual, other than a family member, who can comment on your character and potential for academic success.
Essay Write an essay in response to the question below:
How has being a military dependent affected the way you see the world and the role you will choose to play within it?
Your essay will be scored based on its content, focus, unity, organization, spelling and grammar. The essay must meet the following guidelines: typed in 12 pt. Times New Roman font, double spaced, 1-inch margins, two (2) page maximum. To ensure anonymity, do not include your name on OR in the essay. As an alternative, please include the last four digits of your SSN in the upper right hand corner of each page.
