Gypsy & Traveller Site Allocation Development Plan Document CALL FOR SITES PROFORMA

As part of the Local Development Framework for the area, Wiltshire Council is preparing a Gypsy and Traveller Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD). The document will make provision for sufficient additional pitches for Gypsies & Travellers and Travelling Showpeople in Wiltshire as identified in the South West Regional Spatial Strategy.

Wiltshire Council is undertaking preliminary work to identify potential sites that may be available for future use by the Travelling communities. Any sites that are included in the GTDPD would still be required to follow normal planning procedures in securing planning permission. Individual planning applications on sites identified in the GTDPD will be judged on their merits against the relevant Development Plan policies unless material considerations indicated otherwise. The GTDPD may represent a material consideration in determination of such planning applications.
