Award contract to Kokosing Construction Co., Inc., Elyria in amount of $2,610,646.08 for Station Rd resurfacing project. 4 bids were opened on April 10, this being the most responsive complying with specification. #19. Sheriff Stammitti commended Deputy Todd Weegman for an outstanding job in the line of duty. Deputy Weegman was on patrol April 8 responding to a call at West River Café on Sprague Rd, Columbia Township when he noticed smoke from residence 27305 Royalton Rd. There were flames coming from the back of the house, he woke up the family and saved the three lives. Smoke detectors worked but the residents were in a deep sleep. Columbia Township Fire Department thanked Deputy Weegman for his heroic act that saved the lives of this family.

US Army Corp of Engineers, public notice to solicit comments form public regarding application for permit under Authority of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act for Jenne Family Limited Partnership, 3107 N. Windsor Crt., Westlake to fill in waters in order to expand the distribution and training facility of 7.6 acre development on southwest of intersection Chester Rd and Lear Nagle Rd. Avon.
