Revision of Pensions under Sustaining Progress 1st December 2004
I am directed by the Minister for Education and Science to refer to the increases in basic pay sanctioned for Academic and Non-academic staff in third level education and to convey sanction for the increases to be applied to former staff.
Accordingly sanction for the payment of the increases to pensioners on the same basis and subject to the same terms and conditions as apply to payment to serving employees i.e. the payment to each group of pensioners is conditional on the increases mentioned being paid to serving employees.
Pensions in course of payment on 30th November 2004 may be adjusted, as appropriate in the normal way, by reference to the revised salary scales, as set out in the schedule attached to Circular Letter No. IT20/04, or if applicable by reference to the attached ‘Notional Salary Scales’.
