SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS CELEBRATION JANUARY 29 – FEBRUARY 3, 2017

Welcome to Catholic Schools Week Please join with St. Lambert School for these special events!

Saturday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29 Students should wear their school uniform to the Mass they attend to show their pride in St. Lambert School/SFCS/ Catholic schools.

Praise Singers sing at the 9:30 Mass at St. Lambert Rolls and coffee after the 9:30 St. Lambert Mass (sponsored by the SFCS)

Sunday 3:00 Bowling (SFO Sponsored Event) Eastway Bowl on 10th Street 2 games and shoes = $6.96 plus tax Please return the note that was sent home so we have an approx. number of people attending. Money is to be paid at the bowling alley (no money will be collected ahead of time). Parents must provide adult supervision for their children during bowling.

Dress Up Dress Down (DUDD) coupons sold all week at school. $1 each, limit of 5 per student. These can be used during the year on days we don’t have school Mass.

Service Project All Week: "Warming Our Faith Community" Our community service project is for the Bishop Dudley House. They are in need of hats and gloves for children and adults. New or gently used and clean can be donated. Donations can be placed in the baskets outside the office.

Monday, Jan. 30: Pastries, Parents, and Prayer (SFO Event) and Cultural Share Day DUDD – Bring or Dress in something to share your heritage

7:15 a.m. “Pastries for Parents” in the gym. All parents are asked to join their children for a roll —students are welcome if accompanied by an adult.

8:10 a.m Prayer and Praise Rally in the church

Share time - Students will have time in the classrooms to share something about their family’s heritage/culture

1-11-2017 Tuesday, Jan. 31: D.E.A.R. - Get Comfy and Read a Good Book DUDD - Wear PJ’s to school D.E.A.R time announced during the day (Drop Everything And Read)

Wednesday, Feb. 1: Variety Show/Dress Down Day DUDD – Classrooms pick their dress down theme

1:30 – 2:50 p.m. Variety Show in the gym—student performers in Grades K – 6 Rules for the Variety Show: 1) Tryouts will be held in the classrooms on Wednesday, January 25, with each classroom teacher making the final selection of acts. 2) Material and costumes should be appropriate for elementary children. 3) Acts must be polished and under three (3) minutes in length. 4) Students may participate in only one act. 5) Music tapes or CD’s for individual performances must remain at school following their audition until the master tape is made. Performers must have their costumes, music and props approved by their classroom teachers. Discreet, age appropriate dress is expected for all participants. Practices held after hours at the school must be supervised by an adult. If you wish to use any school or church area, you must first check with Linda Nuese in the Parish Office to reserve it.

5:30 – St. Therese KC’s Soup Supper (Free Will Offering) at St. Therese

Thursday, Feb. 2: Valentine Cards and Movie Students make Valentine Cards for shut-ins 1:00 Movie and popcorn in the gym

Friday, Feb. 3: All Catholic Schools Mass - 11:30 Early Out 10:00 Mass at the Elmen Center celebrated by Bishop Swain. All students and staff will receive and wear special T-shirts donated from Avera Hospital. Students should plan to wear their uniform white shirt to school so the T-shirt can be slipped on over their shirt at school in the morning. Students should also wear uniform pants or skirts. Parents are most welcome to attend, but students will sit with their class as we do for school Masses. All students must ride on the buses to/from the Elmen Center. Please complete and return the permission form as soon as possible.

There is NO PRESCHOOL or PRESCHOOL PLUS today. For those K-6th graders who need after school care, this is an extra sign up day. (Jan. 20th sign up deadline).
