Expression of Support for the Northern Integrated Supply Project and the Proposed Glade

EXPRESSION OF SUPPORT FOR THE NORTHERN INTEGRATED SUPPLY PROJECT AND THE PROPOSED GLADE RESERVOIR AWN – 2009-19

WHEREAS, Northern Integrated Supply Project (NISP) will include the South Platte Water Conservation Project (SPWCP), which will reduce the amount of water transferred from agriculture without limiting the rights of agricultural property owners to sell their water, and

WHEREAS, the proposed Glade Reservoir will divert about ten percent (10%) of the Cache-la-Poudre River annual flow of 300,000 acre feet being five percent (5%) new water diverted from the river and five percent (5%) from agricultural partnerships, all under the requirement of maintaining in-stream flow levels through the Town of LaPorte and the City of Fort Collins, and

WHEREAS, Progressive 15 is convinced that the NISP participants have, through their study of all reasonable alternatives, put for the best alternative for water supply for their citizens, and that because of the aforementioned in-stream flower requirements, the SPWCP will not adversely affect the recreational or agriculture needs of citizens in their use of the South Platte River as it passes through.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY Progressive 15, that it hereby expresses its support for the permitting and construction of NISP and the proposed Glade Reservoir.
