Rules for play: 1. The ball is dropped to the ground and then served underhanded from the back right position. 2. The serve must land in bounds--the receiving team must let the served ball bounce. 3. The server must say the score loudly and must say their team’s score first. 4. You score on every dead ball. The same server will serve until a mistake occurs--there is no limit to the number of times a server may serve. 5. During play, the ball may be hit before it bounces or after it bounces one time. 6. The ball may hit the net and remain a live ball. (this includes the serve) 7. A ball that hits the ceiling in the auxiliary gym and remains on your side, can be played by another member of your team. 8. The basketball goals are considered in bounds but are not considered teammates. If the ball hits at an impossible angle, re-play the point. If the ball stays on your side, it is considered a live ball. 8. During play, the walls are considered players on your team. 9. An unlimited number of hits are allowed but do not delay the game. 10. Games are played to 25 points.

Dead ball situations: 1. If the ball hits the ceiling and goes over the net in the auxiliary gym, it is a dead ball. 2. If the ball hits the ground two times in a row, it is a dead ball. 3. If the ball goes over the net and directly to any wall, it is a dead ball. 4. If a player hits the ball two times in a row, it is dead ball. (the walls and partition are considered teammates, but the ceiling, backboard, and net are not) 5. If the ball hits completely outside the boundary line then it is a dead ball. 6. If the ball bounces over the net, it is a dead ball. 7. If a player touches the net with their body during play, it is a dead ball.

Safety and strategy: 1. Front row players should stay within touching distance of the net. 2. The primary responsibility of the back row players is to set the ball up to their teammates on the front row. 3. The pass is the shot used most often by the back row players. 4. The spike is only used by the front row players. The hand must be closed to prevent finger injuries. 5. If the set shot is taught, any set shot must stay on your side of the net. 6. Front row players should never attempt to block a spike. You should try to get out of the way—be alert and keep your eyes on the ball at all times. 7. Always keep good sportsmanship as a part of the game.
