Terms and Conditions
Below is a general outline of the Terms and Conditions for this post. Full terms and conditions would be included following any offer of employment.
Type of Appointment
1 Year fixed term contract, Part Time
Location
Brindishe Green Primary School, Beacon Road, London, SE13 6EH (2 days)
Lee Manor School, Leehurst Road, Lewisham, London, SE13 5LS (1 day)

Probationary Period
6 months’ probationary period with a formal appraisal in the sixth month.
Salary
£8807.40 pro-rata per annum from FTE of £14,679 per annum. . Hours of Work
3 days- 21.6 hours per week. Working days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Inductions
Please note that the successful candidate, as part of Place2Be induction, will be required to attend a compulsory four-day Staff Inductions programme.
Annual Leave
A full time equivalent allowance is 25 days per annum plus bank holidays. The pro-rated allowance will be calculated once the candidate is appointed and the start date is known.

Annual leave has to be taken during school break times only. Please note that employees with more than 3 years of service are eligible to 27 days of annual leave pro rata and those with over 5 years of service are eligible to 30 days of annual leave pro rata.
Pension
Employees are eligible to join Place2Be pension scheme after three full months of service. The Place2Be contributes 3% of your salary into the scheme; employees may contribute as from 3% of their salary per financial year. A free session is available with our financial advisers to help plan your pension needs.
Childcare Vouchers
We run an approved childcare voucher scheme which offers income tax and National Insurance contribution savings when paying for child care.
Cycle Scheme/Season Ticket Loans
We offer interest-free loans for buying a season ticket or purchasing a bicycle to assist our staff with reducing the cost of travelling to work.
Eye Care Vouchers
We provide eye care vouchers entitling you to a free annual eye test. This scheme fulfils our legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act for staff using Display Screen Equipment. If staff require glasses because of their use of a DSE then an additional voucher pays for a basic pair of glasses.
Training and Development
Place2Be offers a central development programme for all staff and provide a range of training opportunities as part of employee’s individual personal development plan.
Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 – section 8
Under the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 you will be required to prove your eligibility to work within the UK. Further details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
PVG Scotland/DBS
An offer of employment for this post will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure clearance through PVG Scotland (Disclosure and Barring Service in England and Wales).

Job Description
Job Title: Assistant School Project Manager Reporting to: Cluster Manager Location: Greenwich and Lewisham
The role of Assistant School Project Manager provides a fixed term opportunity for a candidate to develop the relevant skills and knowledge required to be able to progress to full time School Project Manager whilst playing a key role in delivering therapeutic and emotional support in schools.
Main duties and responsibilities
Assisting the School Project Manager with the running of the Place2Talk and in group work.
Assisting the School Project Manager with working directly with children.
Developing good working relationships with the Head and staff in the school.
To support the School Project Manager with:
1. Clinical Work
Assessing and allocating children to provision and allocating a The Place2Be counsellor to children.
Working closely with parents in the delivery of the service to the children.
Meeting and working with SENCOs and teachers as requested.
2. Management and Development
Participating in and contributing towards volunteer recruitment and training programmes as required/requested.
3. Service management
Maintaining records in keeping with Place2Be’s Quality Assurance Policy.
Ensuring that all casework records are kept confidentially.
Managing and keeping accurate records of The Place2Be’s resources at the school.
General
Contributing to the development of the role as the service develops.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
ASSISTANT SCHOOL PROJECT MANAGER
The person specification outlines the main criteria for the post and short-listing will be based on the following criteria. Please ensure that your supporting statement clearly shows how you meet the criteria using experience gained either in paid or voluntary work.
CRITERIA
A recognised qualification in counselling or therapy Preferably one year post qualification experience as a practicing therapist or counsellor with an understanding of various therapeutic disciplines At least 3 terms’ experience as a Place2Be Volunteer Counsellor An understanding of working with children who require or would benefit from emotional and therapeutic support and experience of the school environment Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the various therapeutic disciplines. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain relationships with external bodies. Demonstrable ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds using appropriate language and media and able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to anti – discriminatory practice in service delivery
Flexible team player, with an ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
PC Literate and self-servicing A clear understanding of the Place2Be’s Child Protection and Safeguarding policy and procedure and commitment to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults An understanding of and commitment to Place2Be’s equal opportunities policy and anti- discriminatory practice in service delivery Demonstrates an awareness of the requirements of good practice in the provision of supervision
