Coordinator

Purpose

Purpose: Oversee a newly created Advising and Student Success Center staffed by the Coordinator, SSW advising staff, Writing Resource Coordinator. Develop/administer a student retention/success program; facilitate SSW student grievance process, professional standards referrals and liaison with student discipline processes. Essential Functions

Function 1: Oversight for Advising and Student Success Center and staff. 60 % Time Function 2: Develop and administer a student retention and success program. 10 % Time Function 3: Facilitate the student grievance process for Social Work students. 5 % Time Function 4: Collaborate with the Director of Assessment in the School of Social Work to develop and administer a student tracking database. 5 % Time Function 5: Coordinate with the Division of Student affairs to increase the participation of social work students in campus governance and service activities. 5 % Time Function 6: Coordinate with the Honors College to increase social work participation 5 % Time Function 7: Work to ensure that Social Work student take advantage of every available source of financial aid and coordinate the Social Work internal scholarship process. 5 % Time Function 8: Work with the Office of Field Education in increase the number of paid field internships available to social work students. 5 % Time Marginal/Incidental Functions

Marginal/Incidental Functions: Other functions as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work from an a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Paid work experience in a social service agency and experience in university student services. Management/supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Social Work or related field. Experience in program administration.
