As you can see we have a busy February ahead of us and March will be also. We will need help filling the slots to do the Rosary or Chaplets, we need help with the meager meals and with the slots for selling Charity raffle tickets. Look for the dates in a future email. January the council ran the Knowledge contests and Free-throw contest for our students. Since the last newsletter we have added 3 new members; Peter Petruzzelo, Roy Rasmussen and William Koepnick and a transfer Knight Brian Wroblewski. If you see these brother Knights please give them a warm welcome to our council. At this time last year we had 5 new members so we are about even with what we accomplished last year but are short of last years goal. We could use more members to help with our many events and fundraisers. Do you have a brother, uncle, dad or friend that wants an opportunity to give to others. Ask them to be a Knight. I am asking that we pray for those Knights of our council that are dealing with health issues right now. They need our prayers so badly. Brothers we are in need of a least two brothers that would help do our historybook. If you have skills with excel and/or like photography you could be a great help doing this project. You will be coached on how to do this project. Brother Chuck Doucette has my sincere thanks for stepping up to help with the Historybook minutes and Brothers Tom McDonald and Dave Bohler for their help with the financial part of the Historybook. Our area is still in need of someone to be a field agent. KC’s are looking for a Catholic man that isn’t afraid to work. Let me know if you are interested!!! I am pleased to announce our new field agent for Janesville. His name is Mike Chuchara and I have included his Feb comments below.

Plan for this Tax Day and into the Future

April 15 (tax day) is right around the corner. It’s become popular this time of year to encourage the opening of an IRA or similar retirement annuity, or the depositing of additional funds into an existing account, as a tax-savings vehicle. Or perhaps someone has tried to convince you to open an account, touting the rate of interest that money in one of these accounts can earn. Let us join the chorus of folks encouraging you to open or add funds to an annuity, but for a different reason.

Certainly, contributing money to a Knights of Columbus annuity will allow you to save some money on your income tax return. And, our annuities do pay a very competitive interest rate, consistent with our primary goal of absolute safety of principal. Opening or adding to an annuity for these reasons, however, strikes us as taking a short-term view of a product that is designed to provide long-term security. How much security? How does retirement income that you cannot outlive — guaranteed — sound to you?

Here at the Knights of Columbus, you can open a retirement annuity for a very small initial investment. Consistent and disciplined savings placed into that annuity over time can guarantee you an income at retirement that you cannot outlive. That guarantee — along with the fact that no one has ever lost money left in a Knights of Columbus annuity (remember – absolute safety of principal) — really will provide you with peace of mind.

I am happy to meet with you – at your convenience and in your home – to explain in detail the benefits of opening a Knights of Columbus annuity, along with the benefits of our top-rated life insurance, disability income and long-term care. 262-497-2359 [email protected]

Our next meeting will be March 2nd in Marian Hall. Rosary at 7pm meeting at 7:30PM. As I close I wish all of you the Lord’s blessings. Feel free to contact me if you are in need or you want to help. We can do so much together as Knights of Columbus.

May the Peace of the Lord be with you,

Dave Brusky – Grand Knight 608-449-9201 [email protected]
