Pregnancy is a developmental challenge, a turning point in a family’s life. Uterus or womb is the core of reproduction and hence continuation of the human race .The uterus is a hollow ,muscular thick walled organ shaped like an upside down pear .The mature uterus weighs 50 to 70 g and is 6 to 8cm long1.The uterus has three functions which include cyclic menstruation with rejuvenation of endometrium, pregnancy and labour .These functions are essential to reproduction2.
