Become an intern on our award-winning internship scheme and work with our experienced staff to produce Macmillan’s high-quality cancer information in a range of print, online and audio formats. Your enthusiasm, initiative and drive will make a massive difference to Macmillan and, ultimately, to the lives of people affected by cancer.

About the role The Cancer Information Development team are looking for a passionate intern to get involved in a wide range of projects. By supporting our team and taking on some projects of your own, you’ll be helping people affected by cancer to cope with their situation as well as gaining valuable experience in an information/editorial environment. In this role, you will join the team and work with them to:

 Support the production of cancer information publications by doing research, proofreading and other editorial tasks

 Promote the team’s work by writing articles for print and online channels, and through social media such as Twitter and blogs

 Produce information in other formats and for other channels, including audiobooks and the NHS Choices website

 Help with any other tasks/stages involved in the publications process

Preferred qualities and skills  Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

 Good attention to detail.

 The ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people.

 An interest in cancer care and the services that Macmillan provides.

 Well-versed in Microsoft Office applications.

What’s the commitment?

 3-4 days a week, Monday to Friday, between July and September 2016

 This is an office-based role: 89 Albert Embankment, Vauxhall, London SE1 7UQ
