Travel Brochure Assignment

You are working as a travel agent. You have been given an assignment to prepare information for a client who wants to take a trip to a specific region or city in Spain. You are working to complete a travel brochure for your client including a map and other optional selling points for that specific area. Your assignment is to design a dynamic travel brochure that showcases your location as one of the most sought after vacation areas! The final project is due January 7, 2015. Procedure

1. The first thing that you need to do is decide on the destination for which you will create your travel brochure. Brainstorm possible regions or cities that you think the public would be interested in. 2. The second step is to collect information about your destination; be sure to include some of the following in your research: o a detailed map of the destination o geographic, demographic, and environmental descriptions o population and weather reports o a list of major cities o language(s) or dialects spoken o religions and holidays celebrated o government and cultures practiced o the currency used o specific historical locations o a map and brief description of the significance of each historical location o a list of available tours that offer tourists an opportunity to site see o a price list and schedule of tours o activities varying from indoor to outdoor, land to water, dawn to dusk o names and locations of areas of interest (recreation, dining, etc.) o maps, schedules, and prices for activities if available o any other specific instructions or restrictions to accompany activities o transportation to destination o transportation within destination (car rental, subway, bus, etc.) o lodging accommodations o dining accommodations 3. Once all information has been collected, you must sort through your collection, selecting the important stuff and discarding the rest. You will then need to begin the writing process. You need to convey the information you have collected in a persuasive fashion. After all, you do want to rally some interest in your customers rather than discourage their travels. Persuasive language includes lots of detailed descriptions, action verbs, and imaginative phrases. Check out other travel brochures to get some ideas! Evaluation
