TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Objectives

Box 333300, Dubai, UAE ddfc.ae As part of the continuous effort to provide the creative community with meaningful platforms and foster the development of local talent, the Dubai Design and Fashion Council will provide designers with mentorship opportunities aimed at career acceleration.

Format

Designers interested in participating in DDFC Mentorship Program should send a completed application form. An internal committee will match eligible candidates with appropriate Mentors, and Mentors will select candidates to receive Mentorship based on their professional capabilities

The program will have a duration of 3 months, over which 6 Mentorship sessions, will be scheduled between the designer and the Mentor depending on each designers requirements. Mentorship sessions should take place bi-monthly (twice a month) and will be for a duration of 1 hour

For each session, a report must be submitted by the designer to DDFC detailing objectives, activities and overall progress. A template report will be provided by DDFC.

DDFC will schedule the first Introductory Mentorship session with the Designer and the Mentor, after which it is the designers responsibility to schedule all subsequent mentorship sessions.

Terms and Conditions

Participating designers agree to abide to the set steps of the program as detailed below:

1. Application:

Provide all requested personal and professional information as detailed in the application form.

2. Eligibility and Selection criteria: Below are the criteria that will be evaluated by DDFC and Mentors during the selection of potential candidates:

Eligibility: □ DDFC Member: Mentorship is only offered for DDFC members – emerging and established designers □ Segment: Only designers working with one of the 5 design segments will be considered (Architecture, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Product Design)

□ Professional Experience: Designers must have at least 1 year relevant work experience

This can influence which Mentors will be able to work with the potential candidate □ Mentorship Areas □ Challenges: Mentors must feel they have the capacity and expertise to add value and address the challenges identified by the designers

3. Obligations

Designers must be committed to scheduling the bi-monthly meetings, if it is evident that designers are not committed and dedicating their time to attend and schedule the sessions, this will result in the termination of the Mentorship programme.

Designers must attend to the agreed mentorship sessions in time. After each session, designers need to submit a Session Report to DDFC team detailing activities and overall progress.

In case a session needs to be rescheduled, DDFC team and Mentor must be officially communicated over email with at least 48 hours notice.

The non-observance of the above obligations may incur in the loss of the Mentorship (see below).

In addition to the general terms and conditions, designers will also commit to support in building the profile of the DDFC Mentorship Program by:

□ Providing marketing support by promoting the DDFC Mentorship program in their website/social media channels □ Allowing DDFC to use their image rights (branding, name, professional references) in DDFC marketing related materials

4. Exclusion

By failing to observe the rules established by the Terms and Conditions, designers can be excluded from the DDFC Mentorship Program.
