Douglas Lighting Controls, a wholly owned subsidiary of Panasonic Eco Solutions Lighting Americas, engineers, manufactures and distributes a full line of lighting control products from basic components to complex pre-assembled systems. Douglas is seeking a passionate individual to join its sales team as a Distributor & Contractor Sales Specialist.

This position requires thorough knowledge of the local electrical sales market and the ability to work directly with electrical distributors, electrical contractors and end users. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Sales Manager & Director of Canadian Sales.

Location: · Successful candidate must be based in the Vancouver area (lower mainland).

Responsibilities: · Promote Douglas Sales directly to Electrical Contractors and Distributors using thorough knowledge of product line and good lighting controls principles · Assist in the design of complete lighting controls solutions using all available Douglas products · Analyze British Columbia market conditions for distribution sales (stock & flow as well as project business), and identify existing system upgrade opportunities · Support sales process by creating targeted PowerPoint presentations and occasionally attending sales presentations / regional trade shows · Work with electrical contractors & end users to assist in building audits, design recommendations and budget pricing estimates · Report activities regarding sales / opportunities on a monthly basis

Skills and Abilities: · Customer service focus · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Target driven · Develop and build strong relationships, and manage those relationships · A self-starter capable of working from home with limited direction · Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) · Must have the entrepreneurial drive to succeed and possess strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills

Education and Experience: · A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in electrical industry; preferably lighting controls or lighting fixtures

Travel: · Position will be based in the Lower Mainland BC with 75% of the time spent out of the office making calls and spending time with customers. Remainder of the time will be in the office supporting business opportunities, co-ordinating sales opportunities with the RSM & inside sales representative.
