CITY OF CAPE MAY SPECIAL EVENT

New Jersey Run for the Fallen September 24, 2015 www.njrunforthefallen.org

Run for the Fallen is an event to Honor Fallen New Jersey Service Members. Every mile, a family will be presented an American Flag and a biography of their loved one.

The runners will be stopping twice in Cape May this year. At approximately 8:35 A.M., the runners will arrive at Sunset Boulevard and Columbia and will proceed down Broadway to Beach Avenue, stopping at Patterson Avenue to honor Spc. Simeon Hunte at approximately 8:46 A.M.

The runners will continue on Beach turning left onto Gurney Street and stopping at the Cape May Veterans’ Monument at approximately 8:56 A.M., where LCpl. Curtis Christensen, OS-2 William Trapnell and all Veterans of World War I will be honored.

From there the runners will continue on Columbia Avenue making a right onto Decatur Street, to W. Perry Street, then Myrtle Street, right onto Broadway, left onto 4th Avenue, right onto Columbia Avenue to Moore Street, stopping at WCM Elementary School and then continuing onto Broadway and out of town.

The ceremony on Wednesday evening, September 23, 2015, begins at 5:30 pm. There are no speakers except for those who are directly involved in the run. The entire evening is focused on the Heroes and their families. A dinner for the families and the run support team will take place after the ceremony at the Bayview Inn.

This is a very emotional evening, as it is a remembrance and a celebration of the lives our Heroes lived.

Please support the runners and Honor our Heroes, by coming out to cheer them on as they pass and by displaying the American Flag.
