WANGARATTA NETBALL ASSOCIATION MATCH REPORT 2 – 6 - 12

The enjoyment, and enthusiasm shown by players of the All Abilities section,their families and the helpers, was something even the very cold morning could not dampen. The development of skills and court craft in these few short weeks has been remarkable. Goal attacks , Kerrie Anne Godde and Robbie Campbell shone for their respective teams, they were well supported by centre Tara Dodd and goal shooter/wing defense Claudine Mellor.

The section 1 match between PYT and Emanon was a good spectacle with the dominant performance of Danielle and Sophie Archer both in defense or attack the difference between the sides. Speedy goal attack, Emmaline Howard and Brooklyn Larke were best for Emanon. The Blitz / Vogue game was a very close contest with good performances from Blitz teammates Rebecca Newton, Abbey Walker and Phoebe Gibson whilst Vogue stars were Maeve Coveney, Georgia Callahan and Gemma Tua

Starburst had a 6 goal win against Survivors in section 4. Best for the winners were goal defense, Anna Wallis and goal attack , Olivia Annett who uses the court space to great advantage, whilst the opposition defenders Freya Clarke and Jess Gerrish worked tirelessly throughout the game..

In section 5, .Shamrock’s Bridie Nixon and Riley Coveney led their team to an 8 goal victory over One Direction who had Charlotte Green and Antonia Maher as their top players .

A section 6 match, could be termed the battle of the wesr (Wangaratta West PS) with the game between Wicked Wildcats and Cool Crocs resulting in a substantial win to the older more experienced Crocs. Morgan Rundell in defense and Zoe Zabilowitz in goals stood out for the winning team, with Shaylee Beruch and Charlotte Jackson were best for Wildcats.
