All crew members are expected to…

Listen and learn from our sponsors and leadership. Respect is both to be earned and given to adults and peers alike. Treat others as you would expect to be treated.

Have fun in healthy ways. Learn and foster interests in theater. Be open-minded and cooperative in all aspects of design, production, and rehearsal.

Maintain academic eligibility. Exceed mediocrity… excel in your studies and in theater! Poor grades = no crew.

Arrive on time & Stay Close. We begin @ 3:00. Students may not be in the building un-supervised. Short “excuse” notes are needed to account for absences or lateness. Students may not wander throughout the school after school. The expectation is to stay onstage or in the auditorium.

Act responsibly for the safety of other people and yourself. If in doubt or if unclear, then ask a supervising adult.

Become a caretaker of our stage and auditorium. Maintain clean, organized, and safe production areas including seating, stage, shop, booth, dressing rooms, and bathrooms. When in doubt…CLEAN, SWEEP, or PUT AWAY TOOLS PROPERLY

Be proud of your efforts. Build straight, paint well, correctly illuminate, sound true, hide in the dark when asked...

I agree to act accordingly to the terms above. I understand that my sponsors may bar my participation from Stage Crew for inappropriate student conduct as outlined by the H-H handbook.

Student Signature: ______Date: ______Items Needed for Participating Crew

1. Pencil every day. Used for notes, writing, and construction. 2. Appropriate Attire: Work Clothes that can be ripped by lumber or stained with paint. Long pants are a must. Long hair pulled back. 3. Appropriate Footwear: Closed-toe sneakers, boots, or other shoes with laces tied tightly. NO FLIP FLOPS!!!! Items Needed for Participating in Shows

Showtime might be the end of building, but our role is to support the cast and “run” the show on stage, in the booth, and at the soundboard.

 “Set of Blacks” for shows: Black-only (no logos or iron-on) long sleeve t-shirt, black pants/slacks/jeans, black socks, black shoes (spray painted Keds work well). Think light weight because production instruments/lamps make backstage “tropical.”

* Appropriate Production shirts may be available for a reasonable cost (about $15)*

As a parent/guardian…. I understand that my son/daughter will be instructed and expected to safely use power-tools and construction materials under supervision. Some may be inherently dangerous if used improperly. Splinters, small cuts, bumps and bruises are commonplace issues of construction. A first aid kit is available for students to access and all injuries large or small should be reported to a supervising adult.

I understand that my son/daughter will be encouraged to foster a genuine interest of theater and become involved in many aspects of production upon request.

I understand that scheduled times are important. I will deliver (and pick up) my son/daughter on-time (esp. for evenings). Many building days are scheduled for directly after school. Late busses are available for after school transportation at 4:30.

If late or absent, I will write a brief note of excuse in order to maintain accurate attendance records. This also helps supervisors to determine merit and participation of crew who attend to run the show.

I understand that the adult supervisors are working to not only teach about theater, but also to encourage professional and mature behavior through responsible decision-making skills, prioritizing skills, and leadership skills to my son/daughter. Hatboro-Horsham’s Code of Conduct for extracurricular activities applies to all students and adults who participate in the theater program. I give permission for my son/daughter to participate in Stage Crew. Parent/Guardian Signature: ______Date: ______

Parent Quick Check for Stage Crew 16-17- KEEP THIS FOR YOUR REFERENCE Important Info: Crew Schedules posted on Theater Office door. Copies are available to all crew. Information about rehearsal schedules are posted online.

Building Crew begins at approx 3PM and ends by 4:30 PM. We plan for students to take the late bus home.

Running crew schedules are determined closer to show dates, but often include longer afternoons, evenings, and nights up to 11PM. Participating in building crew does not ensure a position on running crew during the show. Some shows are simply too small for many people to have jobs. But there are always opportunities to help with front of house duties (ushers, box office, fund raisers, concessions, etc…)

Students are responsible for maintaining Academic Eligibility.

Students are held accountable for good behavior according to the extracurricular Student Code of Conduct.

This is a yearlong commitment. Our season runs from Sept to June. Many other theatrical opportunities exist at H-H’s stage to stay active.

Stage crew will try to utilize Twitter & Facebook & Remind101 (text messages) to help distribute important information, announce snow-day cancellations, or provide positive feedback for jobs well done.
