Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I hope everybody is off to a great start this school year! I couldn’t be happier with how things are progressing here at Frank Black. I want to thank all of you for helping to make this year’s opening one of the smoothest I’ve ever seen!

Updates

 Students received their agendas last week. They should bring these to every class every day. Teachers will have students copy down the TALE every period which includes the objective for the day, homework assignment, any late work that might be due, and any extra announcements (tutorials, project dues dates, etc.).  Last week we began our active lunch program, students from all grade levels are now allowed to enjoy their lunch in the cafeteria, on the patio, or some free time playing basketball, soccer or just walking the track. Please note that food is not allowed on the field so students should eat before reporting there. Students are not allowed to come back into the cafeteria once they have left, and are not allowed to leave the cafeteria during the last fifteen minutes of lunch.  Our after school activities are in full swing with athletics, fine arts, and tutorials on a daily basis! Please make sure and pick your kiddos up on a timely basis! Thanks!

Reminders

 No school Monday the 7th, Tuesday the 8th will be an A day. Enjoy the holiday weekend!  Cross country invitational Saturday 12th @ Chavez HS- 8a.m.  Open house is coming up Wednesday September 16th from 6-8 P.M. We will have a pre-meeting in the cafeteria starting at 5:00 where parents can sign up for the PTO, PS connect and receive other important information about how to stay connected at Frank Black!

PTO news

 The PTO will kick off its fall fundraiser this Friday the 11th. Look for some cookie dough packets to come home. Last year Our PTO was able to raise enough for an IPAD cart and 10 new outdoor tables! Please help support their efforts for make Frank Black a great place for all kids.  The Monthly supper club will be at Raisin Canes Tuesday September 15th. Mention that you are from Frank Black and a portion of your purchase will go directly to the school!
