AVON VALLEY PRACTICE DURRINGTON SURGERY IS TEMPORARILY CLOSING
Our extension at Durrington Surgery is progressing well and we are on schedule to close on 31st March 2016 so that the final stage of the works can go ahead. We expect to re-open Durrington Surgery on the 1st June 2016.
During April and May we will be operating solely from Upavon Surgery. This means our space will be very limited and we will need to change our appointment schedules to accommodate services. The revised schedule will be as follows:
We will be open from 0800 to 1830, Monday to Friday, with a later finish of 1930 on Mondays.
During this time, and following the success of our walk-in service offered since January, we will be offering a GP walk-in service on MONDAY MORNINGS and FRIDAY MORNINGS. This means that if you arrive at Upavon Surgery before 1130am you will be seen by a GP. The service will work on a first come, first served basis. Please understand that although you will be seen by a GP, you may need to sit and wait.
If you normally collect your medication from Durrington Surgery, you will either need to collect from Netheravon Shop or Upavon Surgery. If you wish to collect from Netheravon Shop, please let us know. If you decide to collect from Upavon Surgery, you do not need to let us know.
If you need to order repeat medication, please use one of the following services:
1. Access your online account (you will need to obtain your username and password if you have not already activated this service)
Or
2. Fax your request to 01980 630393
Or
3. Post to Avon Valley Practice, Upavon Surgery, 43 Fairfield, Upavon, Wiltshire, SN9 6DZ
Or
4. Drop off your paper request at Netheravon Village Shop
Or
5. Put in a request in person at Upavon Surgery To ease the burden of ordering repeat prescriptions, we will be issuing post-dated prescriptions when requested in person or when using paper. This means you will be able to take home two or three prescriptions that you can later take to the chemist when needed or request that they are sent to your nominated pharmacy electronically. Please note you will not be able to obtain the medication until nearer to the date detailed on the prescription.
If you do not have access to our online services, we very much recommend that you consider using it – it is very easy and straightforward, simply request a username and password at either Upavon or Durrington Surgeries before 31st March. Access enables you to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and view your test results and medical records online. Please ask at Reception and remember to bring photo ID.
We are aware we need to make more appointments available for our patients, and please be assured that we are continuing to look for another GP to join us. We have increased our nursing hours and the range of services delivered by the nursing team to help meet demand, although we realise this is not the full solution.
In the meantime, please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused whilst the work is carried out to improve our surgery.
Thank you very much for your patience and understanding during the disruption.
