IT’S OJR CAVALCADE WEEK!!!!

1. OJR HOME CAVALCADE: This is our week to shine and do what we do best………host the best cavalcade out there! Because so many terrific folks come together to help, volunteer their time, etc., we have developed the reputation of having one of, if not the best organized and smoothest-running show out there. Thanks again to Mrs. Chris Ficca and Mr. Mark Centanni, our coordinators, for organizing all of the aspects of the show that come together to make it great! I will attach the schedule for the night. The show starts at 5:00pm with bands scheduled at 15-minute intervals. Spread the word! Get people excited! It’s OJR Cavalcade week!

2. DISNEY TRIP PERMISSION SLIPS AND 1 ST PAYMENTS DUE OCT. 3 RD: Payment #1 in the amount of $375.00 per person is due Oct. 3rd for each person coming along on the band trip to Disneyworld. Checks should be made payable to: “OJR MPO Band Chapter”. In addition, everyone’s trip permission slip is also due Oct. 3rd. I will attach a form here for any of you who would like to use available funds from your student fundraising accounts.

3. FANTASMIC GIFT CARD FUNDRAISER: Stacy Martin is running this current fundraiser for the students to earn money towards their trip to Disney World. This is a great fundraiser and has the potential to raise a lot of funds. Please contact Mrs. Martin with any questions at: [email protected]

4. OJR BAND NIGHT AT “CHILLI’S” WED, OCT. 5 TH: Wednesday, Oct. 5th is OJR Band Night at the Chilli’s restaurant in the Upland Square Shopping Center (by the Best Buy, Target, etc.). Have dinner at Chilli’s that night and present your waiter or waitress with a voucher (which I’ll attach here) and the OJR band will receive 10% of the profits that night as a fundraiser for our program. Hope to see all of you there.

5. DISTRICT BAND TRY-OUTS: Auditions for PMEA district band will be on Saturday, December 10th at Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester. Any band member interested in auditioning for district band should order the solo at this time (if you don’t already have it) so you can start to prepare. Solos can be ordered through Mr. Mengel. District band is an AWESOME opportunity and experience and it would be nice to have a large representation from Owen J. Roberts this year. SCHEDULE (9/26/11 – 10/8/11)

 9/27/11 Band Rehearsal – 6pm to 8:30pm

 9/30/11 HOME FOOTBALL GAME (Pope John Paul II) - Report 5:30pm - The middle school band will join us for this game - We will perform at halftime (MS will do pre-game) - Finish around 9:30pm to for pickup

 10/1/11 OJR CAVALCADE OF BANDS - Report 12:00pm for practice - We will practice from 12:00pm to 3:00pm - Cavalcade starts at 5:00pm - Performance schedule attached
