ROSCOE COLLEGIATE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES July 20, 2015 7:00 p.m.

The Roscoe ISD Board of Trustees met in regular monthly session with the following members present: Steve Anthony Jason Freeman Bryan Heaps Frankie Santiago Cheyenne Smith Wes Williams Members absent: James Arnwine

The meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. Anthony gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

Smith moved, seconded by Heaps to accept the consent agenda. The vote was all in favor.

Heaps moved, seconded by Santiago to approve the revisions to the Student Handbook for the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was all in favor.

Freeman moved, seconded by Williams to approve the AEP/DAEP INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT with Colorado ISD of the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was all in favor.

Heaps moved, seconded by Freeman to approve Roscoe Collegiate ISD to become a SCHOOL OF INNOVATION as authorized by the passage of HB 1842 during the recent 84th Legislative Session, thereby providing additional local control including school calendar flexibility. The vote was all in favor.

Santiago moved, seconded by Freeman to approve the employment of Sheila Womack as elementary teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was all in favor.

Smith moved, seconded by Santiago to approve the employment of Mandy Lara as secondary teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was all in favor.

Williams moved, seconded by Santiago to approve the dedication of certain areas of the new Agricultural Research Center including the classroom area, the extension office area, the conference room, and the veterinary facility. The vote was all in favor.

Santiago moved, seconded by Freeman to approve the acceptance of the resignation of Michelle Horton as elementary teacher effective immediately. The vote was all in favor.

Heaps moved, seconded by Freeman to approve hiring Kelcee Drake as elementary teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was all in favor.

Heaps moved, seconded by Santiago to approve the acceptance of the resignation of Tifnee Reed as elementary teacher effective immediately. The vote was all in favor. Heaps moved, seconded by Freeman to approve hiring Hilary Brennan as elementary teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. The vote was five in favor and one (Frankie Santiago) opposed.

The board entered into Executive Session at 9:34 pm to discuss a personnel issue and adjourned back out of Session at 9:45 pm.

Heaps moved, seconded by Santiago to adjourn at 9:45 p.m. The vote was all in favor.
