Staff Grasso, MPA, CAE, Vito - EVP [NUMBERED ACTION ITEMS INDICTED BY BOLD ITALICS IN BRACKETS] OLD BUSINESS: Operations Manual There was discussion regarding the first four proposed changes to the manual addressed in draft amendments to the manual that had been discussed at prior meeting and distributed prior to the meeting. [2:ATTACHED] The Commission approved the proposed changes as submitted. There was discussion regarding proposed changes to the section regarding “Records of Academy Actions.” Final draft will be distributed by the chair for consensus before the board meeting. Long Term Calendar The Commission approved an amended list of dates to include on the Academy calendar [1:BELOW]. Columbus Day was returned to the list. Fathers’ and Mothers’ day were left in ambiguous status, and minor Jewish holidays were deleted. Christmas through New Year’s Day Columbus Day Easter (Father’s Day) Fourth of July Labor Day Martin Luther King Day Memorial Day (Mother’s Day) New Year’s Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur week Thanksgiving STFM, Program Directors’ Meeting, MSSNY HOD, AAFP events 2012 AAFP Meetings: February 9-12: Winter cluster May 3-5: NCSC & ALF May 14-15: FM Congressional Conference May 17-21: Chief Resident Leadership June 3-5: FMRP directors June 7-10: Summer cluster (is this a typo?) July 26-28: NCFMR&S October 15-17: COD (is this a typo?) October 17-20: Scientific Assembly

Bylaws Amendment regarding chairing the Board in the absence of the Board Chair [4:ATTACHED], and succession to the presidency [5:ATTACHED] were again distributed, and approved.

NYSAFP Traditions There was discussion regarding whether the Bronx-Westchester chapter should be considered upstate or downstate. The consensus was that it is and has been downstate. The Traditions section of the delegate manual is adjusted to reflect this [6:ATTACHED].

NEW BUSINESS: Doodle.com Dr. Morrow will conduct a trial to test the performance of doodle.com as a tool to use in scheduling meetings, and will report on its function at the Board meeting.

Doximity Dr. Nepola described a physician social network that is currently offered to physicians for free. There was interest in pursuing this opportunity. The Commission approved further discussion with Doximity. Any potential agreement will be referred to the Membership Commission for recommended action.

10-State Vito will distribute background information on this conference. Drs. Krotowski and Greenwald agreed to help with planning the 2013 10-State meeting along with Drs. Kaplan, Nepola and Ebarb.

ALF There was discussion regarding who we should send to ALF. Dr. Merritt said ALF occurs late in our president’s term and that it may be better for us to send our vice president instead. The Commission agreed to [7: add the VP to the list of officers we could send,] but did not agree to stop sending the President.

The meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
