IACTS CERTIFYING EXAMINATION FOR CARDIOTHORACIC - SURGICAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS

Introduction:

The Indian Association of Cardiothoracic surgeons (IACTS) proposes to conduct a certification exam for Physician assistants working in Cardiac surgery. This would enable standardization of Physician assistants across the country working in the field of cardiac surgery.

The certification will be awarded to successful candidates at the Annual meeting of IACTS on completion of the requirements stipulated below. .

Details of the certification process are as follows:

1. Eligibility: a. Three / four year bachelor degree in physician Assistant awarded by recognized University. b. Two year post qualification work experience in dedicated cardiac surgery unit. c. Letter of recommendation from Head of the department cardiac surgery

2. Written examination: Will be conducted during the Annual IAPA meeting  Multiple choice 120 questions  Duration : 90 minutes  Examination Fee : Rs.1,000/-  Date : 06.11.2016, Sunday  Venue : Indian Association of Physician Assistants Conference, Kolkata

3 . Viva Voce: Candidates passing the written exam ( 50 % ) will be called for a viva the same afternoon . Successful candidates will be certified by IACTS

The exam will cover all the aspects of patient care in cardiac surgery.

Download the application form from the IAPA and IAPACON Website Fill the necessary details and then enclose the DD for Rs.1,000/- in favour of “Secretary IACTS Contingency Fund” payable at Chennai
