$60 Both days or $45 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday, $140 Family (3 or more siblings) Led riders $25 Saturday only

Max of two horses per rider will be allowed. Please note ring events will not be held up for changing of horses and only one horse can be nominated as the competitive horse with points going towards High Point Score

Saturday: High Point Score Trophy Rugs and Arm Garlands will be awarded for Open Classes, Trophies for Novice Classes and Encouragement Trophy Rugs and Arm Garlands for each year group as follows: K- Year 2, Year 3-6, Year 7-9 & Year 10-12 plus

Trophy for the Highest Point Score for a registered Australian Saddle Pony will be offered.

Trophies will be awarded on Sunday for Champions and Runners up in the Dressage and Combined Training.

Showjumping SATURDAY 21 MAY There is a choice of six heights. Each rider/horse can compete in two consecutive levels only. AM2 Cross Rails This is for beginners who do not regularly compete in these events. AM2 45cm (This is the highest level to be jumped if you do not have a jumping card or letter from an instructor) AM7 60 cm (D Grade Jumping Card required) AM7 75cm (C Grad Jumping Card required) AM7 90cm (B Grade Jumping Card required) AM7 105cm (A Grade Jumping Card required)

Showjumping will commence with walking the course for cross rails at 10am with jumping to commence at 10.30am. RULES 1. All competitors competing in the Showjumping (except for cross rails & 45cm) must supply a copy of their relevant Showjumping Grading Card or equivalent,for the horse which they intend to compete in this event. Please supply copy with your waiver and permission form. 2. If any student is found competing on a different horse to the horse stated on their nomination form, or previously advised, they will be eliminated. 3. Team Managers must be satisfied that competitors are capable of riding competently in their appropriate age group. 4. Cross Rails, 45cm & 60cm height showjumping will be run on optimum time 4. Dressage SATURDAY 21 MAY RULES 1. Only one dressage tests per horse/rider. 2. K-2 Prep A (2013) – Beginner/Encourager – May be led or Prelim 1:1 (effective 1/1/14) Years 3 - 6 Prep A (2013) – Beginner/Encourager, Prelim 1:1 or Prelim 1:3 (both effective 1/1/14) Years 7 - 9 Prelim 1.1, Prelim 1:3 or Novice 2.1 (all effective 1/1/14) Years 10 – 12 Prelim 1:3, Novice 2:1 or Novice 2:3 (all effective 1/1/14) As per the EA dressage webpage found at: www.equestrian.org.au 4. Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded in each level based on the points awarded in each test. 5. In the event of equal points the winner will be one with the most 9’s, 8’s etc.. 6. SADDLERY FOR DRESSAGE TESTS: In addition to the General Rules, the following rules apply: a. A noseband must be worn (cavesson, dropped , crossed (Grackle or Mexican) or flash (or Hanoverian)). b. The bit must be a snaffle. c. Whip is permitted provided that it measures not less than 90cm & not more than 1.20m (including the tassel). d. Spurs – the top of shank must not point upwards e. Rowels may be worn provided that they are blunt/smooth & free to rotate f. Rings, martingales, any kind of gadget, any kind of boot or bandage, tongue depressor or any form of blinker are strictly forbidden under penalty of elimination. 7. A timed draw will be available on Friday afternoon. Please note it is NOT a move up draw. 8. Riders are to present to the marshal 15 minutes before their allotted time. 9. Callers are permitted in Prep A and Prelim 1:1 without penalty.

Sporting SATURDAY 21 MAY All riders can participate in the Sporting – it is not necessary to nominate. The sporting arena will be open from 10.30am – 2.30pm. Riders wanting to compete must present to the sporting arena during this time. Champion & Reserve Champion Sporting will be awarded for each age group. In the event of a tie for the champion and reserve the highest placed rider in the flag race, then barrel race, then bending race, then clover leaf and then keyhole will be the decider. There are four sporting events: Flag Race Bending Race Glover Leaf Keyhole SUNDAY 22 MAY

Combined Training

SUNDAY 22 MAY The Combined Training competition is open to those competitors who do not wish to compete in Dressage. The event will consist of a dressage test followed by a show jumping round. Competitors may only compete in either the Combined Training or Dressage - not both. There are new dressage tests for Combined Training in 2016. (http://www.equestrian.org.au/Eventing- Dressage-tests) There will be 5 classes and riders and team managers are asked to make sure that horse rider combinations are entered in the correct class: CT1 Encourager’s Class Dressage test EvA80 & EvA95 Test 1 (2016) / Showjumping 45cm Riders in this dressage test may have a caller. This is for beginners who do not regularly compete in these events or do not have a showjumping card or letter from and instructor. CT2 Dressage test EvA80 & EvA95 Test 2 (2016) / Showjumping 60cm. Must have a D Grade showjumping card or a letter from an instructor. CT3 Dressage test EvA80 & EvA95 Test 3 (2016) / Showjumping 75cm Riders must have a C Grade or above showjumping card or a letter from an instructor. CT4 Dressage test EvA80 & EvA95 Test 3 (2016) / Showjumping 90cm Riders must have a C Grade or above pony club showjumping card or a letter from an instructor. RULES 1. Caller only permitted in CT1. 2. All classes will be dependant on sufficient entries. 3. The same horse and rider combination must complete both dressage and showjumping phases. 4. Elimination from one phase results in elimination from the whole competition. 5. There will be a timed draw for the dressage phase. 6. Scoring will be as per EA Eventing penalties for Dressage and Showjumping 7. SADDLERY - DRESSAGE In dressage tests for combined training either a cavesson, dropped, crossed or flash noseband must be worn. The bit must be a snaffle bit made in metal, leather, rubber or plastic material. The carrying of a whip is not permitted. A breastplate (without rings) may be used. Martingales, any kind of gadgets (such as bearing, side, running or balance reins etc), any kind of boots or bandages, tongue depressors and any form of blinkers are, under penalty of elimination, strictly forbidden. 8. SADDLERY - SHOWJUMPING As above but the saddle and bridle may be changed. Whips may be carried; running martingales, bandages and boots are also permissible. Dressage

SUNDAY 22 This dressage competition is a separate event from combined training.. RULES 1. The Dressage competition is ONLY open to those competitors not competing in Combined Training. 2. Maximum of two dressage tests per horse/rider. 3. There will be 2 classes in each dressage level of Preliminary, Novice and Elementary: PRELIMINARY Dressage tests - Prelim 1:2 and Prelim 1:3 (both effective 1/1/14) NOVICE Dressage tests - Novice 2:1 and Novice 2:2 (both effective 1/1/14) ELEMENTARY Dressage tests - Elem 3:1 and Elem 3:2 (both effective 1/1/14) As per the EA dressage webpage found at: www.equestrian.org.au 4. Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded in each level based on the points awarded in each test. 5. 1. Trinity Interschool’s Equestrian Event accepts no responsibility for injury, damaged occasioned to a person, property, spectators or competitors. It is a condition of entry that each person shall hold the event organising committee blameless, and indemnify it against legal proceedings arising from any accident.

2. Students currently enrolled from Kindergarten to Year 12 may compete at the Trinity Interschool’s.

3. Maximum of two horses to be entered per student.

4. Horses must only be ridden by the student competitor on the day. No other rider is permitted to ride on the day.

5. No official gear check will be performed. It is the team manager/rider/parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure equipment is safe and meets the Equestrian Australia Standards.

6. All Competitors must wear an ASNZS 3838, ASTM F1163 or EN 1384 – Current US Std. Any competitor not wearing an approved safety helmet will be asked to dismount.

7. The uniform of the day will be cream/white jodphurs or cream/white stockman cut trousers, heeled riding boots, approved safety helmet, school shirt, jumper and tie. No riding coats or blazers will not be permitted in the ring.

8. Leather gaiters or long boots (not suede chapettes) may be worn in all events, except for showriding where only riders over 17 may wear them.

9. Classes will not be announced, competitors should remain in the ring to avoid missing classes.

10. If a competitor misses a class they are not permitted to ride in another year’s level.

11. Judges decision is final. Judges may disqualify any mount which they consider unsuitable or unsafe for a school event.

12. The committee reserves the right to split classes were necessary 13. No dogs are permitted in or near the rings and must be on a led at all times.

Ring Description

Infants Beginner – (Led/assisted): Student in Kindergarten – Year 2 who cannot walk and trot unassisted. Riders must remain on the lead at ALL times when mounted.

Primary Novice – Students in Kindergarten to Year 6 who cannot canter safely. Novice riders are not allowed to canter for the duration of the carnival.

Primary Open – Students in Kindergarten to Year 6 who can canter safely and are able to control their mount when cantering.

Senior: Note: There is NO beginner or novice ring. Class Description

Best Presented: Judged on the clean, neat and tidy appearance of the horse, rider and saddlery. Judged mounted in the ring.

Handler: Judged on the rider’s ability to present their horse/pony on the ground.

Rider: Judged on the position and riding ability of the rider.

Hack: Open riders only. Judged on the horses confirmation, manners, paces and education.

Show Hunter: Open riders only. For horses with more bone substance, judged on horses confirmation, manners paces and education.

Pleasure Hack: Open riders only. Open to both Hacks and Hunters. Pleasure hack classes are to be ridden in a snaffle bit, Cavesson nose bands only, no whips or spurs.

Pairs: School pairs are encouraged however mixed pairs from different schools are accepted. 2016 Student Nomination Form One nomination form per competitor
