A WINE TASTING FOR REGULAR FOLKS

Mark your calendar for the Fourth Annual Fíon Pour, the wine tasting for the common wallet! The folks at Wine and Spirits in the Quarter (Lakeland Drive) are partnering with Fenian's Irish Pub once again to bring a wine tasting for regular folks, completely informal, all as a benefit for CelticFest Mississippi.

Fenians is normally closed on Sundays, but they often open their doors for Celtic Heritage Society concerts, workshops, and benefits. It is always a smoke-free environment at these events!

Fíon (pronounced FEE-un) is the Irish Gaelic term for wine, and the root word of the name, "Fiona." Let wine experts and brand representatives guide you as you experience wines from around the world in every style imaginable and learn what truly fine wines can be had for a reasonable price.

Those who are familiar with the Fíon Pour, now in its fourth year this August, will recognize the relaxed format. This is not a formal sit-down sampling, but a casual, arrive-when-you-like wine tasting. Wine will be available at several different "stations" and staffed by a wine expert, and participants can meander from station to station, sampling and learning about the wines. Hors d' oeuvres will also be available to cleanse the palette.

The Pour is known for its fine selections of wines, all set off by exquisite catered confections. Whether you are a seasoned wine connoisseur or a new wine drinker, there's something for you at the Fíon Pour.

Tickets are $20 for non-members, $18 advance online purchase, and $15 for Celtic Heritage Society members. Fenian's Irish Pub is located on the corner of Jefferson and Fortification Streets in Jackson, MS. Online tickets can be purchased by visiting the CelticFest website, www.CelticFestMS.org.
