Your club is cordially invited to participate in the 133rd , Annual Canada Day Regatta to be held on Saturday July 1st, 2017 on the Allan A. Lamport Regatta Course, Toronto Centre Island. The Programme will consist of canoeing, dragon boat races & rowing races. All events will be conducted according to the rules of the Canoe/Kayak Canada & Rowing Canada Aviron.

01: ENTRIES: a. No entry will be accepted without a proper entry form completed. Your entry fees and association fees are payable on the day of the regatta. (Payable to the D.D.R.A.) (Association fees of $50.00 are for member clubs Argonaut, Don & Hanlan). b. Email entry forms to: Joe Lyttle, Tel: H: 905-791-1820, email: [email protected], Entries closing date: Saturday June 24h, 2017. The draw will take place on Sunday June 25h, 2017 c. Submitting an entry does not necessarily guarantee a race. d. One entry per club per event will be eligible; clubs will be notified on the decision on second entries. the decision of the draw committee is final; all clubs will be notified on the draw results.

02: REGATTA RULES; a. All clubs must compete in their club colours or they may be excluded from the race. b. No composite crews will be allowed. c. No rower or coxswain may compete in two consecutive rowing races. d. The course is 1000 metres long and is restricted to six lanes. e. Due to the tight race schedule no heats will be allowed. f. Lightweight rowers will be allowed a 2.3 kg allowance. g. Races will start at the time shown on the schedule; Crews will be called once before the start of the race, it is the crew’s responsibility to be at the starting line five minutes before the start of their race. crews arriving late and crews rowing up the course to delay the start of a race will be excluded from their race. h. National team rowers cannot compete in the events they have been selected for. They can only in compete in senior and open events. i. All Competitors (including recreational) must have paid RCA & Rowontario competitive membership fees. j. Photographs taken on the ferry dock, ferryboats, launching area & during races and winners presentations Maybe used on DDRA website, posters & programs.

03: ISLAND RULES: a. City of Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation Division does not allow overnight camping on the island. b. No private cars will be allowed on the island; only vehicles with three or more boats will be allowed. c. Clubs may bring their boat trailers over to the island by freight ferry (at the Bay Street & Queen’s Quay). Truck & trailer Schedule: Friday June 30th, 2017, 8.00 am to 9.00 pm, The DDRA provides a subsidy for trailer transport of $100.00 & a payment of $50.00 for boat driver (and spotter) to have dinner after the regatta. First trailer to leave island at 7.00 PM Saturday July 1st, 2017, Trailers & Trucks may stay over a second night if desired, but DDRA must be notified. First Passenger Ferry on Saturday July 1st is at 8.00 am.

TORONTO ISLAND FERRY & PUBLIC TRANSIT SERVICE The Toronto Island Ferry service docks at Hanlan’s Point, Centre Island & Ward’s Island. The Mainland Ferry Terminal, located at the Bay Street & Queen’s Quay West intersection, is a ten minutes walk from Union Station. Public transit to the terminal includes the Bay 6 bus and the Harbourfront L.R.T. exit at the Ferry Dock stop. Abundant user-pay parking can be found nearby. Bicycles may be taken on the ferry. Although some restrictions apply during peak periods.
