KAPPA PSI PHARMACEUTICAL FRATERNITY, INC. The Grand Council Deputy Outstanding Achievement Award AND The Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence

The Grand Council Deputy Outstanding Achievement Award and Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence are awards that have been developed to recognize the outstanding accomplishments and hard work of the Grand Council Deputies (GCD). The Fraternity recognizes that to be a good Grand Council Deputy it takes time and energy away from other activities like family and other professional responsibilities. These awards from the Fraternity for the Grand Council Deputies will provide recognition in their professional careers.

NOMINATIONS  These awards are given on an annual basis and Collegiate Chapters are encouraged to nominate their GCD(s).  The nomination form is due via e-mail to the GCD Development Committee by May 15th. Submission details are provided on the nomination form.

RANKING  The recipients of the awards are voted on by the members of the GCD Development Committee. The ranking of nominated GCDs uses objective parameters and is based upon criteria including the points received on the nomination form, the statement of nomination, and others factors as determined appropriate by the committee. o In the event that a majority of the voting members of the GCD Development Committee are also nominated for these awards, we reserve the right to extend voting rights to members of the National Executive Committee who are not nominated for these awards.  The Grand Council Deputy Outstanding Achievement Award will be awarded to the GCD with the overall highest average rank based on the voting members. o In the event of a tie, the committee may have the discretion to contact the nominating chapter for more information that may help in determining an overall winner.  The other nominated GCDs, up to 9 each year, will then be awarded a Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence. These will be presented in alphabetical order.  The Grand Council Deputy Outstanding Achievement Award cannot be awarded to the same recipient more often than once every 5 years.  The Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence may be awarded in consecutive years.  The final award recipients will be decided upon by the GCD Development Committee and the National Executive Committee will approve the list of awardees by no later than July 1st.

AWARD PROVISIONS The Grand Council Deputy Outstanding Achievement Award  Plaque provided during the Awards Ceremony at the Grand Council Convention (GCC). In non-GCC years, the plaque will be sent to the recipient’s respective Chapter and the recipient will also be recognized at the next GCC.  Letter of recognition sent to the supervisors of the GCD (e.g. Dean, Pharmacy Director, or chairperson).  Complimentary registration to the next GCC, if deemed fiscally feasible by the National Executive Committee.  The recipient will have recognition in the MASK.

The Grand Council Deputy Certificate of Excellence  Certificate presented during the Awards Ceremony at the GCC. In non-GCC years, the certificates will be sent to the recipient’s respective Chapter and the recipient will also be recognized at the next GCC.  Letter of recognition sent to the supervisors of the Grand Council Deputy.

ADMINISTRATION: The award recipients will be announced at GCC, and in non-GCC years the GCD Development Committee will contact the award recipients in a timely manner after July 1st. The Central Office will be responsible for preparation of the certificates, plaque (for the GCD Outstanding Achievement Award) and letters of recognition to the supervisors of the awarded GCD.
