Role Summary
To support the co-ordination of all Everton in the Community’s community cohesion programmes working with EITC staff, partner staff and young people to implement and deliver a first class community cohesion programme.
The programmes have the ability to play a powerful and influential role in many young people’s lives by using interventions to promote the benefits of a positive education, physical activity and community social action. We discourage young people from engaging in anti-social and criminal behaviour, explaining the negative impacts of their actions on the communities where they live. We create awareness of how to improve metal health and build resilience though physical activity.
The Coordinator will support the Manger on the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, monitoring and evaluation of the Kicks Football programme. This includes line managing the Community Cohesion Football Coaches and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities General To support the planning and implementation of a football programme that reflects Everton’s coaching philosophy and to provide ongoing support to the coaching staff and volunteers where required to deliver the programme successfully. To assist in the co-ordination of the day to day running of the programmes in accordance with the requirement of local partners. To work closely with a range of local partners where appropriate including Police, local authorities, Youth Service, Youth Offending Team (YOT), housing authorities, health and education services, local football clubs and wider professional football clubs. To maintain regular communication with the management team about project progress, monitoring and evaluation, and training needs for project staff and volunteers. To be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of elements of information at all sessions and to ensure that information is being uploaded into the Everton management database. To create a market leading range of challenging football activities and development sessions, in consultation with young people to ensure innovative and creative delivery. To arrange & coordinate venues for the delivery of the programme and complete regular risk assessments to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. To attend, organise and lead (where appropriate) local steering group meetings, provide feedback on the project’s progress, staff meetings and training opportunities. To liaise closely with local police contacts and Safer Neighborhood Teams at both steering group and delivery level to ensure the project is meeting its objectives with police presence. To support head coaching staff to develop sessions linked to the personal development of young people. To work with staff and participants to create opportunities for volunteering with a key emphasis on 16- 25 year olds. Identify development opportunities for volunteers and record progress of their developments. To support the development of a relevant strategy to engage and maintain interest of the relevant target group (local young people aged 8-18 years). This may involve outreach work and more general marketing and promotion. To work with a steering group of young people in any planning stages so that young people are at the centre of the project delivery. To work alongside other football clubs/ local partners to organise mutually beneficial events and activities with both friendly and competitive matches. To identify potential media opportunities and communicate to line manager key stakeholders and central management team. Any other relevant duties as requested by the Community Cohesion Manager determined appropriate for the role
Welfare, Development & Support . To promote and encourage self-confidence, esteem and empowerment within the team and young people attending the programmes . Oversee group work which enables young people to work constructively with others. . Work with individuals to involve them in their own development; encourage individuals to be involved in the planning and delivery of community sessions. . Work as a reflective practitioner, and encourage project team staff to reflect on their own delivery and learning throughout the project. . Support the accreditation of young people’s learning through Local and Accredited Awards. . Monitor the welfare and development of the project team and individuals over the course of the programme. . To ensure the projects team delivery staff are well informed, involved in appropriate staff training and kept up-to-date in relation to industry CPD.
Other . To maintain appropriate case management records on an IT secure information system or in manual written case files with data protection and confidentiality a priority . Promote equal opportunities, including developing awareness of young people around these issues. . Monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the Safeguarding Officer of EITC, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote good practice throughout the programme. . To undertake any other additional duties, consistent with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager General Responsibilities

. Specific experience in a successful project . Experience of working alongside organisations management capacity, including all aspects of in the youth justice sector, such as youth process development and execution offending services, fire service engagement or the police . Experience of working with hard-to-engage or vulnerable young people, or groups facing . An understanding of effective practice research similar challenges on early intervention theory and programmes . Knowledge of project management challenges, . A track record planning, organising and techniques and tools overseeing youth/community led initiatives
