www.worldclassbasketball.org Thank you for your interest in our travel basketball program. We would like to take the time to introduce you and your son to our travel basketball team for the upcoming season. The World Class Basketball Association has a National reputation of preparing players to play high school basketball. Many of our players have played Sophomore or Varsity as Freshman and many have gone on to play basketball at the College level. You can get more background information by visiting our web site at: www.worldclassbasketball.org

The following contains detailed information about our various travel programs including cost and registration forms.

WORLD CLASS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION 9U THRU 14U PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is to teach the players the fundamentals and skills, both mentally and physically, necessary to compete for a position on their high school basketball team. Our number one concern is to teach the players about basketball on and off the court. Winning is not a concern, however, it is important for us to teach the players what it takes to win basketball games.

WORLD CLASS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION COACHING STAFF

The World Class Basketball Association takes great pride in our coaching staff. All of our coaches are American Sports Education Program (ASEP) Certified, have high school coaching experience and/or have played at the college level. You can get a complete listing of our coaches and their backgrounds by visiting our web site at www.worldclassbasketball.org

ROSTER AND TEAM SELECTION

The World Class Basketball Association will have teams at the 9U//3rd, 10U/4th, 11U/5th, 12U/6th, 13U/7th and the 14U/8th grade levels. We also have 15U through 17U teams but this packet just covers the younger levels. We offer an open registration process. All players that register for one of our teams will be put on a team. If we have more than one team, we will put your son on the team that we feel would benefit him the most. We will take into consideration your sons talent level, the teams talent level and where we think your son will play the most. If we do have more than one team at a certain grade level, we will have an evaluation day after we receive the registrations of all players that will be playing. This evaluation day will play a part in how we split the teams.

In terms of roster size. Our goal is to have no more than 11 players on any one roster. Once again, the actual number of players will be determined by the number of players we have at each grade level. A roster will be at least 8 players and no more than 11 players.

Please note that we want players that have a desire to get better and to play high school basketball in the future. Our travel program is not a recreation type league and is meant for the serious player who wants to play high school basketball in the future. Please make sure you understand our overall philosophy, playing time philosophy, refund policy and all information in this brochure before you register.

PLAYING TIME We believe that the best way to teach our philosophy is by giving every player adequate playing time in games. It is our goal to make this a rewarding experience for all involved. That being said, we also want to start and prepare players for what it takes to be able to play at the high school level. Playing time will be the coaches decision based on practice performance, game performance, knowledge of our system, work ethic at home and attendance. It is very important that the players learn what it will take to play at the high school level. If your son works hard in practice, works hard in games, knows the system, is working on his game at home and attends all the practices, he will get a good amount of playing time. If there are weaknesses in any of these areas, he will not play as much as others. We do guarantee that your son will play in every game we play in but the amount of playing time is not guaranteed.

SEASON LENGTH

The World Class Basketball Association will now run three different sessions. We have the Winter Travel Season, the Spring Travel Season and the Summer Travel Season. Players are welcome to register for one season or all three and each season will be treated as a separate season.

The Winter Travel Season will run from the beginning to middle of October thru the last weekend of February. The Spring Travel Season will go from the middle of March thru the end of May and the Summer Travel Season for the 9U thru 14U teams will go from the beginning of June thru the end of July or early August depending on the schedule.

PRACTICE

During the season, all teams will practice one to two times a week (two practices most weeks but there will be occasions where we only go once). We run our practices like a high school team would but we scale it down based on the teams age and talent level. All levels will have a mix of team and fundamental work.

We will practice out of various gyms depending on the season you sign up for. They include the Streamwood Community Center, Park Place Gym in Streamwood, Elk Grove Pavilion, Prairie Stone in Hoffman Estates, Willow Rec Center in Hoffman Estates, Triphahn Center in Hoffman Estates and Conant High School in Hoffman Estates.

We do our best to try to keep each teams practices on the same days and location of each week, however, this is not always possible. Our gym time is based on availability but we will do our best to keep it consistent.

GAMES & TOURNAMENTS

We believe that the best way to get better is by playing the best possible schedule we can but at the same time not overwhelming the players. It is our philosophy that you get better by playing tough competition rather than winning by 20 every game.

For the Winter Travel Season, every team will be guaranteed 7 tournaments. We will play in one to two tournaments a month. We do not travel during the Winter season. All games are within an hour of the Northwest Suburbs.

For the Spring Travel Season, every team will be guaranteed 5 tournaments. Please note that we do not play games during Spring Break. There might be a weekend or two that we do travel but you will know about this well in advance so you can plan accordingly.

For the Summer Travel Season, every team will be guaranteed 5 tournaments. There also will be a tournament or two that would require travel but you will know about this well in advance so you can plan accordingly. TRAVEL TEAM FEES Many different factors play into the fees that are charged including gym time cost for practices, tournament and game costs, coaches pay, AAU and/or YBOA membership fees, insurance costs and other administrative costs. The uniforms we use will be the same as this past Spring. If you did not play this past Spring, you will need to purchase a new uniform as we are using a different style now. The cost to purchase a new uniform is $80 Please add this to your total when you submit payment. For the $80, you will get a game uniform. Players also need to have practice gear which is a reversible mesh jersey with mesh shorts. This is the same as our Fall League uniform. If you do not have this, this will be an additional $50.
