INTERTANKO has hosted many vetting seminars aimed specifically at assisting CEO’s, Superintendents, and Fleet Managers etc keep up-to-date with the latest information input and insight about the vetting and Port State Control Process. This seminar in Manila is unique in that it is aimed specifically at Seafarers, providing them guidance and information about the vetting and Port State Control Process as well as the vetting inspections. We also hope to confirm a key note address by a Government representative of the Philippines. In support of the INTERTANKO focus on Human Element related matters, the Vetting Committee felt that it would only be appropriate to conduct a vetting seminar for seafaring officers providing training/presentations to enhance understanding of the vetting process, why ship-inspections are undertaken and to provide guidance on preparing for and closing out an inspection. The seminar is provided as a service of INTERTANKO membership and Attendance is Free of Charge to seafaring officers working for member companies, however, all attendees will be required to be registered. There is no limit on the number of attendees and accordingly members may send as many seafarers as they feel will benefit from this seminar - we strongly encourage members to send their seafarers for this unique half day event, senior officers (deck and engine) will benefit from attending. Junior ranks and petty officers will gain an insight to the whole vetting process and by attending the seminar be better prepared for such inspections. A certificate of attendance will be provided to all those seafarers who attend The seminar will be chaired by Capt Michael Wilson, President of Laurin Maritime (America) Inc and Chairman of INTERTANKO's Vetting Committee and will feature four speakers and a Q&A session. Further details of the event and speakers will be confirmed shortly. Please bring this notice to the attention of your Crewing Departments, Vetting Departments and Manning Agencies

All we ask is that members provide us with a list of your officers’ names that will be attending on the attached registration sheet which will enable us to provide adequate administration and certification on completion of the seminar. We wish to express our gratitude to NYK for the use of their venue and for assisting us with this seminar.
