Directions:  From Mr. Z’s Homework Room, click Mr. Z’s Egypt Unit.  Near the top of Mr. Z’s Egypt Unit page click the link directly under the ancient Egyptian sundial. You should now be at the “Egyptian Resources Page”.  This page has all sorts of links you our multi-discipline study of Ancient Egypt.  Read the selections and answer the following questions on this page or on a separate sheet of paper

Part I: Click the heading: “Visit Ancient Egypt”. Click Lesson One: “The Geography of Ancient Egypt”.

9. Go to the Quarry – and then “Begin another Journey”. Go “downstream” this time. Continue to the Faiyum. What is the Faiyum?

10. What were the houses made of by the Faiyum?

11. He decided to explore the fertile land. What does irrigation mean?

12. The boy continued to the desert again. And then on to the Oasis. He decided to join the caravan. What animal did he ride?

13. TAKE ANOTHER JOURNEY: Travel downstream to the Delta. The Delta contained lands that were fertile. Continue your journey there. As he went to the fertile lands, what did the girl tell him?

14. Where are the mines located?

15. Go to the mines. What were they mining? 16. Head towards the mines. What type of tracks did the boy follow?

17. Who was the goddess of the turquoise mines?

18. What was the boy in danger?

19. The boy decided to travel back to the Coast. Did he find his brother?

Part II: Continue to Lesson Three: Hieroglyphics. Click “The Cartouche”
