Quick word with Dr. Rodriquez: Support for sexual assault victims always available to students and family- as we know VCU has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to sexual assault- please get in touch with any MSG member or member of the VCU and MCV administration if you have any concerns

Class Updates M1 - Trammell Cox: Fundraiser last week – white coat photos completed; Have started to plan Mr. M1; helping establish leadership roles for MSG MTG 12/8/14 2 interest groups. Next class event: post-test this Friday at 9PM. M2 - Kunal Kapoor: Met with Dr. Wood and Woleben regarding concerns and issues with INOVA lottery, etc. – minutes were sent out; starting last systems block, getting close to crunch month; will likely have end of year social. - *Note: M3 tracks will be different from the current tracks – stay tuned for updates. M3 - Peter Ghamarian: hanging in with third year, starting to sign up for away rotations and step 2 M4 - Jackie Arquiette (VP): Continuing with interviews- if current M3s have questions regarding scheduling step 2 exams or away rotations, feel free to get in touch with Inov - Sunny: Holiday party this Friday with faculty and students in Arlington a at 8:30PM.

VP Social : Nehal Naik o Saturday 12/13: 2:30 -5:30PM: LIVER ROUNDS at Tobacco Company- free food- TWO WHOLE TURKEYS- also sending faculty invites o TALENT SHOW: Will be at Hippodrome- to benefit Caritas- donations for entry- will be open to other professional schools for entries

VP Student Life : Caitlin Francoisse o There is a broken microwave on the 7th floor of MMEC (possibly both are not working as of this week)- Caitlin has spoken with Lelia- currently investigating the warranty on the microwave- otherwise will probably have to wait a few months to purchase a new one as these were recently purchased o Some confusion about parking passes: Woleben met with parking manager- there was a glitch in the system and apologized- cannot be changed – the issue was that it was showing lots were full for those who logged on at 7am but actually were not- those who logged on later were able to get these lots. Caitlin is meeting this Wednesday with Dr. Woleben- details of her meeting and more complete explanation will be emailed from her following the meeting. There is discussion of arranging a pass exchange and details of that will be sent on as this idea progresses o White coat and Black vest sale: M3s will be starting to wear black vests, likely all rotations except for out patient rotations depending on preceptor. Caitlin is looking at pricing from book store for both white coats and vests- also looking at alternative sites. Will be collecting payments with checks or paypal.

VP Community Service : Katie Pumphrey - Mini-Docs: o November: picked up trash on Belle Isle – great success! o December: Clothing drive! Partnering with Pharm association, received $500 from the SGA- will distribute donated items at Monroe Park on Dec. 14th. Will use the money to purchase additional items (socks, blankets). The box for collections is in the MMEC lobby. o January: Buddy Ball Basketball on Jan. 31st planned for right after M1 LINC meeting- playing basketball with children with physical and intellectual disabilities - No Shave November: Raised about $150 - Monument 10K team: VCU School of Medicine MSG - Complete canned food drive for Thanksgiving was successful - Talent Show charity will be CARITAS – money raised will help to fund their spring clinic. Pharmacy students also work there.

VP Curriculum : Katie Waybill o Class of 2017 will have an 8th core clerkship: 4 weeks of an ambulatory experience in the specialty of your choice (within limits). Example: PACE, surgery clinics, traditional out patient medicine rotations. These will no have shelf exams. o Anatomy gloves: APPROVED. Will get $1000 worth of gloves. Email M1 president with suggestions. o Working on the accreditation surveys. Each class will be getting their own survey. Working with Allison Sands to have these as red cat surveys. Dr. Ryan has SSP with M3s to fill out these surveys. There will be an incentive.

VP Societies: Sarah Elizabeth Smith - Canned food drive - Society parties - Will begin planning Strauss Cup: Saturday May 2nd is the tentative date. Renting the park will be about $760 dollars for the five hours. Funding/alcohol are concerns- there were 3 donated Kegs last year and people only bought the cups, with proceeds from cups went to charity. Will discuss with Dr. Woleben at meeting with society leaders. Will request appx $3000 from SGA. - SGA meeting Jan. 3rd

MSG Rep to the SGA : Sina Mostaghimi MSG MTG 12/8/14 4 o Working on creating an MSG/SGA funding request information packet/information on the process. Should be completing by the end of December. o Winter Ball Jan. 31st, $25 until Jan. 16th and goes to $30 after that. At the Omni.

President - January meeting: possibly with Dr. Strauss, working with his secretary for date - MSG meeting this Wednesday with Drs. Wood and Woleben: all officers. Will discuss scrubs/black vests, safe parking, student experience with the new curriculum/curriculum transition.

New Business - Possible panel/lunch for current M2s with M3/M4s regarding tracks for clerkships and electives, step 1- possibly this week on Thursday- Kassi will recruit M3s - Curiosity regarding what will be in the front of MMEC (will it become a park? Will it stay valet parking?).
