MINUTES OF THE BMBS MEETING HELD ON 4 TH OCTOBER 2017

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING The minutes of the September 2017 meeting were read out and agreed as a true record of proceedings.

MATTERS ARISING There are two places remaining for the trip to Blackpool, the price will increase if the spaces are not filled. Contact John Jenkinson if you wish to go. It was also mentioned that paying for parking at Beaconsfield was not allowed anymore and that parking was available if you pop in for a drink, place a sign in your car window with BMBS on it.

It has been confirmed that membership cards will have change colour each year and pale blue will be the colour for 2018, committee members will have the same colour. Lanyards have not been received yet and could take 2-3 weeks but will not be handed out until next year. Pin card holders are also available for those who do not want a lanyard but must be visible.

Farmer has increased the barrier height to help prevent recent theft activity.

TREASURER’S REPORT The Treasurer read out the financial report for the month with 219 full members and 47 junior members, 59% in the E R. Income from memberships, web sales and catering totaling £1,070.15 and Expenses to Opus, fire prevention/picnic table/mower, new lanyards, fuel and catering totaling £1,243.12. This leaves the total balance £11,783.66 which is brilliant and shows the club is succeeding, The Treasurer also mentioned that £2000-£3000 would be placed in the contingency account.

EVENTS The Events and Publicity Officer reported that there were two events last month, the Club Sunday had the courses moved but wasn’t good on positioning. NADS was reasonable with majority of the members back following the worlds championship. 15th October is the last NADS event. 4th November is fireworks and night sailing and that food orders for burgers and hot dogs should be placed with Ian Phillips last orders will be 1st November also it would be appreciated if someone could assist Elaine in the galley on the 4th November and next year unfortunately Elaine’s mum has had a heart attack recently and is no longer able to assist.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS Alf Lee standing in for Chairman gave thanks to Ian and Tony for all the hard work they have done on both truck section and crawler section, the crawler section has had very little expense and all materials have been sourced from unneeded or scrap.
