A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives upon the occasion of the seventieth birthday of Velma Justice Childers. WHEREAS, Velma Justice Childers was born on January 24, 1930, a native of Pike County, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, Velma Justice Childers was the fourteenth of fifteen loving children born to the late Vada Smith Justice and Flem Justice; and WHEREAS, Velma Justice Childers is a graduate of Hellier High School where she was a cheerleader, and loved among her peers; and WHEREAS, Velma Justice Childers is the adored mother of a daughter, Barbara Suann Childers, and a son, Masten Childers II; and she is the proud grandmother of Masten Childers III, MacFarland Childers, Judith Gibson Childers, and Havana Ellen Childers; and WHEREAS, Velma Justice Childers is an esteemed member of the Pike County community, and through the years, she has played a very active role in national Republican politics; and WHEREAS, on this day, Monday, January 24, 2000, Velma Justice Childers is seventy years young; NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the

Commonwealth of Kentucky: Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives esteem it to be an honor and a privilege to honor Velma Justice Childers upon the occasion of her seventieth birthday. Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, January 24, 2000, it does so in honor of the occasion of the seventieth birthday of Velma Justice Childers. Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit
