a) Clyst St. Mary Flood Prevention Group b) Meeting Minutes May 2, 2017

Call to order Lee Davison called to order the regular meeting of the CSM Flood Prevention Meeting at 7.30 on May 2, 2017 at The Firkin Glenfield Cottages.

Roll call Lee Davison conducted a roll call. The following persons were present:

Approval of minutes from last meeting There were no minutes approved from previous meeting on this occasion.

Open issues (see end of minutes) c) Discussion of Chairman’s vacant role

d) To look at response received from SWW dated 10th April 2017

e) Invite any other CSM residents to Group

Any Other Business a) Environment agency flood protection scheme obtain information from previous Chairman.

b) Copy of minutes to be forwarded to Emma Parish Council. Also liaise with Emma to see where Parish Council are with issues to ensure duplication is not occurring and best course of action is taken going forward.

c) Discussion to tidy up Sand opposite shop. Possibility of Grant to be pursued to obtain funds. d) Christine raised issue with Devon highways and overflow from dual carriage way

e) Lee stated that we would have meetings scheduled as and when they were required. Also stating the importance that if possible all members to be present.

Adjournment Lee Davison adjourned the meeting at 8.17.

Open issues Discussion of Chairman’s vacant role

The Vacant role was discussed and voted upon by the Group.

It was put forward that Lee Davison should become Chairman and after what was probably the fastest Election in UK history. (Guinness to confirm) Lee was voted in and accepted the position going forward.

To look at response received from SWW dated 10th April 2017

The response was thoroughly covered and points where all agreed to be clarified and to be followed up.

Respond to the reply initially with thanks for a positive way forward.

Comment on the understanding that a new pump has been installed although we have not been officially informed.

Request information of the frequency of when the pump will be tested going forwarded in view of the previous failures that have occurred.

The terminology used regarding SEWER and their meaning needs to be clarified.

A fuller understanding of the work recommended to be undertaken to be obtained. Contents of response to be escalated to Graham of 1 Glenfield cottages and Katie and Ray of Half Moon.

Invite any other CSM residents to Group

Lee to invite Don from Parish Council to next meeting.

Any other residents that express an interest are welcome to join or attend please advise.

Contact Mike Norman regarding any historic Environment agency flood protection scheme information.

Copy Minutes to Emma parish Council and have meeting to discuss where they are with their negotiations.

To meet Christine and understand issue with overflow from dual carriage way.

Discuss contents of response with Graham 1 Glenfield cottages

Visit and discuss contents of response with Half Moon (If I must….)

Contact SWW and discuss their email and obtain further information such as clarification of certain points and more detailed information of work they recommend near Glenfield cottages.

Contact Mike Norman, National Flood Forum, DCC regarding information re potential £200 Grant.
