H. D. Cartwright School Grade 9 Complementary Course Descriptions 2015 - 2016

For the 2015 - 2016 school year, students going into grade 9 may request one or two full-year courses (each full-year course counts as 2 half-year courses) and/or additional complementary courses totaling up to six half year complementary courses. Students who have been identified as ESL learners may be placed in the full-year ESL tutorial instead of two courses. Please talk with your parent/guardian to request your Complementary Courses based on the descriptions provided. Please read the descriptions below and then complete the “Complementary Course Request Form” on the attached page

All students are to complete this form. Please return it to their teacher ON OR BEFORE May 29, 2015

We will do our very best to give students their top choices for complementary courses. We begin by looking at full year courses, then students’ highest ranked courses and attempt to place students in those courses next. If a highly ranked course is full, we then move to students’ next choice. Please CHOOSE CAREFULLY! Any complementary courses with insufficient enrollment will be cancelled. If a course is cancelled, students will be moved to another course.
