Title: PIPPA (Prevention, Intervention and Public Protection) Co-ordinator Job purpose: To act as co-ordinator for the PIPPA Alliance, bringing together local specialist organisations who are working to end sexual and domestic violence/abuse.

Reporting to: Through line management to SVS Executive Committee. Location: Voluntary Action Centre Kingsland Square, St Mary Street, Southampton, Hants, SO14 1NW with requirement to travel to partner agencies premises as required.

Salary: £24,000 per annum pro rata. Hours of work: Hours of work for this role will be 18.5 per week. 25 days leave plus bank holidays There is flexibility in how the hours will be worked subject to negotiation with the successful candidate. Ideally they will be spread over Mon – Fri but this may be varied by mutual agreement and it should be expected that there will be occasional evening and weekend work for which time off in lieu will be given. Key activities: The key activities for this role are summarised as follows: Co-ordination / administration  Act as co-ordinator for PIPPA as a stand-alone Umbrella Alliance, taking a lead on raising awareness of PIPPA’s aims and the PIPPA Point of Contact.  Co-ordinate regular PIPPA Steering Group and other meetings such as Reflective Practise or Information Sharing sessions as required.  Monitor the outcomes of the PIPPA Alliance against objectives, reporting to the PIPPA Steering Group meetings and producing a six monthly progress report for external stakeholders  Develop and maintain guidance and protocols to facilitate and formalise joint working such as but not exclusively the PIPPA Information Sharing Protocol.

Training  Take a lead role in collaboration with PIPPA Alliance members to promote, coordinate, develop and deliver PIPPA’s Training and Consultancy services to local agencies to: - generate income for PIPPA - raise awareness of the PIPPA Point of Contact - improve responses to and management of domestic and sexual abuse locally - up-skill the local DSA workforce in specialist areas such as female genital mutilation, child sexual exploitation, so called honour based violence forced marriage, stalking.

Informing and Influencing  Work on behalf of PIPPA member organisations to influence and inform the Southampton Sexual and Domestic Abuse (SDA) Strategy.  Develop effective and sustainable links with all relevant local agencies both statutory and voluntary to enhance collaboration with PIPPA’s aims and the Southampton SDA strategy.  Promote the work of PIPPA and its member agencies including developing links with local press and using website and social media.  Keep informed of other local and national DSA initiatives in order to promote and develop links and best practise  Co-ordinate and ensure the PIPPA website information is current and up to date.  Co-ordinate DSA awareness events on behalf of PIPPA Alliance. coordinate DSA awareness and campaigns, especially in connection to White Ribbon Day and other significant DSA events  Influence related local partnerships, strategic organisations, fora and groups ensuring that DSA is highlighted and remains a priority for the locality.  Set up information sharing systems such as a newsletter, acting as a central information source to PIPPA members regarding DSA in terms of new funding streams, national research outcomes, evidence based practise, training opportunities etc.

Development and sustainability  Work with PIPPA member agencies to encourage joint working, information sharing and skills exchange in the interests of progressing local expertise and a best practise model to market to other localities.  Work with PIPPA members to produce an annual combined data collection report of DSA services for intelligence and gaps analysis.  Work with PIPPA members to evaluate current DSA provision, identify gaps and explore ways in which these can be addressed.  Identify and pursue funding opportunities for PIPPA developments and work collaboratively with member agencies to bring additional funds and resources into the city for prevention of / response to DSA.  Utilise resources gained through income generation in the most effective and efficient way to achieve the aims of the PIPPA Alliance.  Look into and put proposals to the PIPPA steering Group regarding potential models (including social enterprise models) and opportunities for PIPPA to develop and grow to meet changing needs and priorities.

Other duties  To work within SVS overall framework whilst retaining effective operational links with staff across partner agencies.  To provide opportunities to involve volunteers within the overall work undertaken and to effectively recruit, support and manage these in line with SVS Volunteers Policy.  Write reports and undertake all correspondence related to this work, including reports to SVS Executive Committee.  Contribute to SVS in the pursuit of its mission through staff meetings, Away Days and collaborative work with colleagues.  Keep up to date records in order to give a detailed evaluation of all aspects of work.  Work to all SVS’s policies and procedures including Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality, Data Protection, Violence & Harassment, Health and Safety at Work, and the No Smoking or Alcohol at work.  Work within SVS Quality awards standards and maintain records and evidence to support these.  Undertake any other duties as required in relation to this post.

Attainments: In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate (Person that you already have: Specification) All requirements are essential except where indicated as desirable(D)

Knowledge & experience  Understanding of domestic violence, sexual abuse and safeguarding issues and the impacts these have on people and communities.  Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of people, organisations and networks.  Experience of partnership working, policy analysis and / or programme management  Experience of administering training or developing or delivering training or good practice. (D)  Experience of establishing and maintaining admin systems, managing databases and extrapolating reports and statistics from these.  Understanding of the need for, and develop the systems to, enable you to keep up to date with changing priorities and systems in relation to DSA services and partner agencies . Skills & ability  Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with a wide range of people.  Ability to use group facilitation and meeting skills in a wide range of formal and informal settings.(D)  Ability to develop information and resources for a range of audiences.  Good written style in producing information and resources in electronic and paper formats.  Ability to use the internet and other information sources to identify good practice.  The ability to develop and deliver a work programme with outcomes, targets and key performance indicators.  Sound administration skills - competence in Microsoft Office applications, use of databases and social media for marketing  Ability to consider policy, including understanding, analysis and comment.  Ability to provide information and guidance as appropriate.  Communicate assertively and effectively with individuals, voluntary, statutory or private sector organisations.  Motivate others and self to achieve aims and objectives.  Understand and implement different approaches and techniques for workload planning, management and prioritising to ensure the completion of tasks.  Keep clear records relevant to your work in a way that others can use, including case notes.  Think creatively in different situations to develop a way forward or resolve conflicts and tensions.

 Pippa also links with key partnerships and strategic bodies in the City including for example : Serious Sexual Offences Reduction Group (SSORG) Missing Exploited Trafficked Group (MET) Southampton Sexual & Domestic Violence Forum (SSDVF) to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities. Southampton Safeguarding Children’s Board Southampton Safe City Partnership and the Vulnerable Victims Group Southampton Safeguarding Adults Board And others as appropriate
