The NCI's Behavioral Research Program (BRP) initiates, supports, and evaluates a comprehensive program of behavioral research ranging from basic behavioral research to research on the development, testing, and dissemination of disease prevention and health promotion interventions in areas such as tobacco use, cancer screening, dietary behavior, sun protection, and cognitive and social processes underlying health behavior, and the role of psychosocial factors in cancer etiology, progression, and survival. The NCI Office of Cancer Survivorship provides leadership and outreach in research and programs related to cancer survivors.
