Electronic Device Policy ALL electronic devices must be turned OFF and placed in the basket at the front of the room when you enter the classroom. Failure to do so will result in the device being taken to the office. On the first offense, the device maybe picked up in the office at the end of the day. Subsequent events will require a parent/guardian to pick it up in the office after a fee has been paid (see student handbook). ***Cell phones can ONLY be visible during lunch and recess. If a cell phone is out in the hallway, it will be taken to the office.
Grading Scale: Progress Reports: Progress reports will go home every 60% - Tests and projects Tuesday. They need to be signed and returned the following class period, along 40% - Daily/Independent Work/ Homework with any corrections for daily work that have a grade below a 70. My Grading Policy: If a student receives a failing grade on a daily or homework assignment, they will need to make this grade up to a 70 by correcting the problems they missed. If a student is failing my class on their progress report, they are REQUIRED to attend tutorials. A tutorial schedule will be sent home at a later date. Your child will also have 4 tests every 9 weeks; three of which will be unit tests and the fourth will be a nine weeks test. Occasionally we may have another unit test in a nine week, just depending on how the units fall within a nine weeks. ALL students will be REQUIRED to correct tests and if they fail a test, they will be REQUIRED to take a retest. This helps to ensure that you child learns the information they need to be successful for 6th grade, not just fail it and move on without ever truly understanding it.
Tardy Policy You will be considered tardy if you are not in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings.
Disciplinary PAW sheet 1. Warning 2. Lunch detention 3. Call home and After school detention 4. Phone call home and possible visit to office In the case of an extreme offense you will receive an office referral immediately
Absences You will receive your ABSENT folder when you return. Inside the folder will be an assignment sheet with all your absent work. Complete and return ALL the work to your teachers. Again, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get your absent work. *** Please sign and return this signature page, indicating that you and your child have read, understood, and will follow the policies and procedures provided to you for Mrs. Lankart’s Math class. Thank you!
