©ALISE AND SEDEI UNLEASH DOGS AND PARASITES AT VETERINARY CONFERENCE 3-D Artwork Debuts Today at NAVC

DALLAS (January 15, 2006) – To stand out from competitors and the usual signage and banners, ©alise and Sedei conceived and coordinated the execution of an innovative, three- dimensional piece of art for Virbac Animal Health that was revealed at the North American Veterinary Conference (NAVC) in Orlando yesterday.

The anamorphic artwork, created by master street painter Kurt Wenner, depicts various breeds of dogs being protected from many dangerous parasites by Virbac’s new product IVERHART MAX™, which was introduced at the conference. In the anamorphic art genre, an image is distorted in such a way that the 3-D effect becomes visible only when viewed from a specific angle.

“NAVC is one of the biggest veterinary shows of the year,” said John Lee, managing director of ©alise and Sedei. “Virbac has a presence at the conference, but so do their much larger competitors with their much larger budgets. Our charge was to break through the clutter at this show and draw attention to the introduction of IVERHART MAX through a unique and unconventional medium.”

The illustration is a 10 foot by 10 foot decal affixed to the floor of a high traffic area where people exiting seminars will walk past on their way to the exhibit hall. The decal is made from non-skid, highly durable material to maintain the integrity of the image throughout the conference. At the site of the illustration, company representatives will be distributing postcards with a smaller reproduction of the image to drive people to the Virbac booth for more information on IVERHART MAX.

“We decided this 3-D drawing would be more interesting and attention-getting than something that’s done frequently, such as signs on buses or banners in the hall,” said Scott Ethridge, Virbac endoparasitic product manager. “This anamorphic artwork by Kurt is truly innovative because it’s a new form of communications at the show that highlights the benefit of the product exceptionally well.” During the seventeenth century, Baroque decoration often used the anamorphic style to combine actual architectural elements with illusory painting. When standing at a particular point in space, the architecture blends with the decorative painting, forming an extraordinary combined image for the viewer. Wenner's unique and innovative use of this anamorphic style creates unforgettable images that combine the painted surface with its surroundings into a single composition.

“It was a lot of fun to work with Kurt on this project,” said Lee. “Rather than have him at the show creating the drawing live, we chose to have Kurt produce it in his studio and give us the digital output so we would be able to use it for multiple trade shows and other events.”

IVERHART MAX, a new product in Virbac’s veterinary line of endoparasitic products, is the first and only broad spectrum heartworm anthelmintic developed for the prevention of heartworm disease and the treatment and control of roundworms, hookworms and, now, tapeworms.
