CRUSADER NEWS

Dear St. Therese Families, January 26, 2017

We are finishing up the month of January this week, unbelievable. I hope our weather in February is just as cooperative as our weather in January. We have used January 16th and will use February 20th to make up the two snow days we have had so far. As much as I hate the rainy gloomy days, if we can keep this weather and not have to make up any more “S” days I will be one happy camper. Fingers crossed everyone.

Catholic Schools Week next week. This week is celebrated in Catholic Schools all over the country. Each school celebrates in their own way, but the theme is the same. How happy we are to be Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service. WOO HOO and Thank you to Mrs. Striker, Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Jauregui, and Mr. Rudd for planning a week full of fun for St. Therese. Your weekly Calendar is included in this week’s Family Folder. Make sure to go over it ahead of time so you and your students can be prepared for each of the fun days.

Burger King Booklet Sales begin next week as well. Mr. Fitzpatrick, the owner of Burger Kings and Chili’s in our area, gave this fundraiser to the Catholic Schools years ago. Every family will have an envelope of books to sell. Please do your best to sell your family’s allotment. IF YOU CANNOT sell the books return them to the school as soon as possible. We have many families that will compete to sell the most booklets since they are such a good deal. The family that sells the most will get $100 in Scrip of their choice. Jeans passes to everyone who sells all their books. A big WOO HOO also to those families.

A Big WOO HOO and Yipety Doo to Mary Bireley, a distinguished 8th grade student at St. Therese. Mary took the scholarship exam at Bishop Luers and placed 10th among all of the students participating. Mary will receive a scholarship to go to Bishop Luers next year. This is a very difficult test for everyone and to place is a true accomplishment. Way to GO Mary.

Father Lawrence will be returning this Friday from his month-long visit with his family in Africa. Please be sure to go to Mass on Saturday or Sunday to welcome him back and wish him a Happy New Year.

God’s Blessings to all of you,

Miss Jeanette Donovan
