CADET TRAINING CENTRE (CTC) – ANNUAL PROGRAMME (01 APR 14 – 31 MAR 15)

Reference:

A. LAND/RF 1-7-1-26 dated 24 Sep 09 (Policy for payment of ADS at CTC Frimley).

1. Introduction. The programme of courses, conferences and briefing days to be held at CTC Frimley Park between 1 Apr 14 – 31 Mar 15 as authorised by Cadets Branch Army HQ Support Command (Sp Comd) is at Annex A1. Further details on individual courses, conferences and briefing days are at Annex B.

2. Course locations. Cadet Training Centre will conduct courses at two locations during the coming training year; the location of courses is detailed on the year planner stating CTC or Ext. The courses detailed as Ext are to be held at External Training Establishments, further details will be included within the course joining instructions. All courses will be administered by CTC via Westminster.

3. Course applications. All applications for CTC courses must be made electronically via WESTMINSTER. For cadet courses (CLC, Master Cadet and ACF Champion Cadet) there is a requirement for additional paperwork to be signed by the cadets’ parents or guardians and returned to CTC. Students who do not meet the pre-course requirements will not be given a place on the course. County HQs and Contingents are to submit their nominations by the closing date published on WESTMINSTER and also at Annex C to this document (this is at least 8 weeks prior to the start of every course).

4. Pre-Course Qualifications. All students are reminded that they must meet the start state laid down for each course. For example if they do not have a current WHT at the start of either CF SAA or CF ECO or they do not have the Westminster Basic qualification at the start of the ALM course they will be RTU’d with immediate effect.

5. ACF applications will continue to take priority for the CF SAA, CF ECO and ALM courses. County HQ’s who have Students requiring more than 8 weeks notice of their acceptance onto any course can, if able to justify their request, in addition to application on Westminster, Email [email protected] to request early acceptance by CTC. The Courses Clerk will forward any request to the Chief Instructor for his deliberation and the County notified of his decision by email in addition to Westminster notification.

1. Annex A can be downloaded (in colour) from the CTC website (www.armycadets.com/county/frimleypark) or from WESTMINSTER.

1 6. Cadet Forces Skill At Arms Instructor courses. All CCF Contingents should be aware that CCF officers who have attended the CCF Basic (Qualifying) course are eligible to apply for vacancies on CF SAA Instructors courses. They will be loaded as vacancies arise.

7. Joining Instructions (JIs). JIs for all 2014-2015 courses are available on WESTMINSTER after the closing date shown at Annex C. County HQs are to ensure they distribute the JIs in sufficient time to allow their students to prepare for courses. Generic JIs for some courses will also be placed on the CTC website to facilitate course preparation by cadets and adults.

8. Pay and Allowances. CCF and ACF CFAVs attending CTC courses or conferences will be entitled to pay, allowances and travel claims in accordance with current regulations. Pay for students attending courses at CTC is debited against the individuals’ annual entitlement. CTC has no pool of training days for students.

9. Paid Training Days. Extra Paid Training Days and travel costs for Assistant Directing Staff (ADS) who assist on CTC courses should be claimed as follows: ACF Counties claim through their RFCA and CCFs claim through their Brigade HQs. Ref A is the authoritative document.

10. Attendance. CCF Contingents and ACF County HQs are to remind students accepted for courses that they should notify CTC immediately if they are unable to attend the course. The time of arrival for most courses is between 1500-1800 hrs on the day of assembly, unless otherwise specified in the JIs. The JIs also include the course dispersal details. It should be noted that students will not be released before the stated time unless prior clearance has been obtained through HQ CTC.

11. Additional information. Any additional information required or queries regarding any of these courses should be directed in the first instance to CTC on (military) 94 261 8212 / 8206 or (civilian) 01276 65155, Ext 212 / 206, and not to Cadets Branch, HQ Sp Comd.
